I don't do Facebook. I still buy smc packs but the way they do it is a bit rediculas they need to keep them in stock rather than trying to fill orders the buy them from china. Might as well buy my packs from HOBBYKING and get them at about the same time

The preorder system guarantees you'll be first served, if you can't wait,then buy other brands so you can keep on racing, it's a no brainier really, SMC/Danny and all the distributors stand behind there products as the best value money can buy, Danny will not accept a bad bunch of cells just to get numbers as that will diminish the quality of the products and SMC's reputation, as a distributor myself I'm happy to wait if need be and sell a better product to my customers.

The way they do it is exactly the opposite, they order but they sell out way fast.
So they put the pre order amounts in and then add a few to more but they just sell out really quickly, faster than they can make them

If your racing budget is that tight where you can't outlay a little cash on a preorder....perhaps you shouldn't be racing at this time. Pay it now or later, either way this hobby cost money

It's more of a principle thing not that I can't afford it. And I will keep racing and winning. FYI I have 8 smc packs and love them but you can't continue lying to your self that china can't make them fast enough because that's just ignorant. And Danny could come back to rctech and give reasons to all this stuff but he decided to go to another forum. A forum of which sucks and isn't very user friendly. I hope they start actually stocking up on packs because I recommend them to many people but always get the same response "they are always on preorder and I don't wanna wait"

You are wrong on a number of accounts, I spoke with Danny this morning and china CANT make enough at the quality in which SMC is known for, secondly he has been banned from this site by the managers of the site, it is out of his hands now, I have the same issue when I'm ordering packs, mine come direct from the factory and I order 90% more then my preorders but I still run out! especially last month,Danny does the same thing.

Alright I will set a couple things straight right now.
First just because my avatar is SMC and I started this thread I want to make it clear that I do not work for SMC nor have I ever worked for SMC. I do not recieve a discount on my products and my comments should not reflect the thinking of SMC in any way.

Danny is one of the most honest people in this business that I know, he is trying to watch out for we the racer, he offers the best packs and motors available for 1/2 the cost of other places, it is not hard to look at who sells the same packs for way more money.

Danny does not use the pre order money to purchase packs, that is rediculous to even say on here....give me a freaking break.

Danny fought doing pre-orders as long as he could, it is because racers here on RCTECH pushed it that he decided to do pre orders now people that do not have a clue are on here bitching about pre orders.......here is a thought for the bitchers...........DON'T PREORDER NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO AGREE TO THE TERMS AND AS STATED MANY TIMES ON HERE......SEND AN E-MAIL WITH YOUR ORDER # AND YOU WILL GET A REFUND!!!!!!!!!!

In the last year there have been several delays in getting packs, Danny is at the mercy of the manufacturers, he has stated many times on here and other places that lead times have gone from a 4-6 week time frame from the time he places an order until he receives them up to 10-12 weeks sometimes longer depending on chinese holidays. he has several huge orders in. The batch of 4600 shorties that are coming had to be remade because they didn't meet specs, I know a few companies that would have sold them anyways....Not Danny because he is a stand up guy that stands behind his stuff, if it says 4600 that what it will be.

SMC is a great company with great batteries and motors, I am sure Danny would love to have all models in stock all the time but with the demand for his packs and the lack of support for that demand from the chinese at the current time it is just not possible. Think about it for a minute from his point of view....no packs in stock means no $$$$$ in his pocket or to pay his people, then with all these preorders when the packs do come in it is rush rush rush to try to get them all out as fast as possible.

Luckily some models posted above are in, a big order should be in on Monday the 18th and more packs the following week. with all the orders Danny has already placed hopefully he will have some stock for a little while, I doubt it though.

I will say what nobody else will, the guy complaining about SMC offering pre orders is a dumbass. I know it just an opinion as is mine. But what's the other option....to keep checking the website and wait til they show up on the site as "In Stock" and hope I get them ordered. Sorry but it also makes the best business sense to offer pre order. 2nd reason is uneducated commenting on what and how he spends money from preorders and how he runs his business is just ignorant.

I am fine on preordering, but lengthy periods with no stock become difficult. I keep 3 packs to run in my 8th (2x2s plus 1 spare)...one failed a little while ago so I am down to 2, one of which is puffing...so I need more. Ultimately if stock doesn't appear soon I just have to go elsewhere.

On the flip side, you know you are getting fresh packs, so I don't blame Danny for running it this way at all!

If any of you guys that don't like waiting for these packs to come in stock want to buy mine you can. I have two 2S packs that are like new but swelled up like a balloon and two 4S packs that had the cases split open since the first day using them......

Wouldn't that have been covered under warranty?
