It couldn't possibly be user error. That's it.....I'm selling all my SMC's.

That was covered a number of pages ago, sounds like the cracked cases was a known issue with the lipo tray on the mbx6 that cracks cases if not modded.
The swelling is another issue that IMO should have been rectified but the solution was a deep discount off retail that came out to be a couple bucks more than the price you can buy new.

Bad situation for mxnickj, but the first real issue that went without resolution I've seen in this thread.

If you think that's bad to come out of Marines then you'd be severely surprised, and that term is thrown around pretty loosely. After 3-4 tours u just become numb to simple crap. Nothing personal. Some people just get their panties all blinded up over nothing.
The politically correct thing would have been to say his opinion and not him stupid. But seriously, how can you complain about the option to pre-order? Just dumb.
I received my infraction or whatever the hell it is from the moderators, so I was reprimanded for my actions.

I have had most of the 4-5 72002s cases the very first use crack where the wires come out right along the edge. I have used them plenty after that and the crack hasn't gotten bigger. Just didn't feel like sending them back. That was in the Tekno SC. I have about 8 of the 6500 4s packs and all are perfect.

I like the fact he checks them before sending them to you. so unless the shipper beats them up you know you are getting a good battery.

In any lipo pack, if more then 1 cell puffs, its 99.9999% of the time user error plain and simple. Lipo cell failure rates from good manufacturers is under 1%, the odds of have 2 or more defective cells in 1 pack is next to impossible. Theres also a difference between swelling and puffing...

True on the difference between swelling and puffing. The high mah and discharge capabilities that they are stuffing into the roar size cases is pushing the limits. Would be nice if a little taller case would be allowed.
The case size is years old and was fine for light 1/10 buggies, ST, 2wd sct and old school light 4wd SCT. Now SCT power and weight is nearing 1/8 levels and were trying to stuff lipo cells in the old school cases and any normal expansion is pushing against the case limits.

I guess then you would have a 1/10 stick pack case and a SCT stick pack case so that may be too much of a niche for manufacturers to deal with. Most of the 1/10 lites have a height limit with the top plate where most if not all of the SCT heavies use Velcro straps so height is not an issue.

Just received couple new 2S 6.5ah. They now come with 10awg leads. My old ones are 12awg.

At the ROAR Nationals they didn't check battery case size just checked the voltage to make sure it wasn't over 8.40. At 8.41 you were DQ'd before your run. I think the small case and the bigger AWG wire make the case an issue with the 7200. My old 65002s and all of my 4s are great.

Sorry but it also makes the best business sense to offer pre order. 2nd reason is uneducated commenting on what and how he spends money from preorders and how he runs his business is just ignorant.
was this directed at me?

I think it was directed to any one who would "question" pre ordering.

Exactly. Although I do agree he should only have credit card info ready to bill once shipped and not when you order.

The case is already inspected for size prior to going on the roar approved list. I believe the 7200 has pushed that case to the limit.

Ok that's right he did look them up on a list and put those stickers on them. I don't know about you but that 8.40 and 14.8 rule was a little of a pain. I have high end chargers but after charging still had to plug them in and run each one for 30 seconds to a minute to get each cell down to pass. I don't think my $200+ Orion or Hyperion will cut off exactly when needed or maybe I need to read the manuals!

I can understand the thinking behind why he would do it. I guess it makes if more of a commitment on your end
