They will be fine for power, it would come down to run time for your finals and what size track you run but I'd go to the track you plan to run on and see what the locals are running for size but I'd say you'll be fine...

Yeah, what jpm1 said. A lot of variables with track and driving style.
But if you run 5 minute mains, no problem. 7 minute mains with a minute or two of warm up... probably.
10 minute mains, I would go 7200 race pack for sure. Its a couple bucks more and adds a couple grams... nothing.

I run a Tekno SCT and Mugen SCT which is heavier than the scte and get about 13 minutes till I hit lvc set at 7v with the 7200.

Personally, I would get the 7200 even if you run 5 minute mains so you don't tax the pack as much in a race or during practice sessions.

I use the 6500 in my SCTE and have run 10min mains on a decent outdoor track without coming close to lipo cutoff (mine is set at 3.5).

I like the 7200 in my tekno. It doesn't lose as much voltage so it stays more consistent thru a 7 minute race. With smaller packs it would lose a little punch and some speed by the end.

Exactly.
For a couple more bucks and 5 grams or whatever you have plenty left in the tank and bottom line is lipo's don't like being drained to a low lvc so why not 7200?

Plus on a practice run you will get a few more minutes out of it before it gets to the same lvc voltage as a 6500.

Default Race Formula vs Factory Spec

I ordered and paid for some 7200 Race Formula 2S, but received 7200 Factory Spec instead. Now, I'm sure this can be made right but I'm not sure whether to pursue an exchange or a refund of the price difference...

How much am I giving up in terms of quality/performance/longevity if I decide to avoid the hassle of return shipping?

SMC only offers 7200 70c "factory spec race formula" so it appears you got what you ordered.

Doh! That's confusing! I hadn't noticed but all the pictures for the "race formula" are labeled "factory spec". Thanks for un-confusing me!

The comments section of these plugs state that they will not work for SMC batteries. Have anyone tried these plugs? If they don't work, do you have an alternative to the cage style plugs?

Just buy your connectors straight from Danny @ SMC.

Not sure why these Protek bullets wouldn't work but here are a couple options that SMC sells:

6500 2s gets my Tekno thru 10 minutes on large 1/8 tracks, I usually only do 1 or 2 warm up laps. My 7200 I can easily get 12-15.
I have noticed almost all of the 7200's cases cracked right where wires come out of pack, even after 1 or 2 runs, I have about 8 of them and 3 6500's. If you use the bullet packs this wouldn't be an issue but I like my deans. Also because case is same size as 6500 the cells with make the pack swell a little compared to the 6500's. No issue with that as long as case doesn't crack on sides.
