That's what I was told a while back about the case cracking.

So pretty much it tells me just buy a new pack and get over it

I e-mailed Danny, and I got the same answer.

30% off isn't bad, though. That's $32 for a pack that is normally $45.

No, it's 30% off the REGULAR price. The packs I bought were $44.95. Regular price is $69.95, less 30% discount is about $49....to replace a pack I just paid $45 for, that I only ran once.

Stuff happens, sure. But the case should not crack in two places on the first run, with my only option being to glue it.

I'm not really sure what you guys are doing to crack a battery case. I've been hitting plenty of stuff on the track but i'm not sure how I could ever damage the battery.

If you guys are trying to speak with Danny, you can find his new thread at rcgroups.

In regards to the cracking, I have 10 SMCs have not experienced this, is there a chance you have too much chassis flex or something or the battery is strapped down tight enough? Just sounds odd especially when it happens to the same person multiple times but could be faulty plastic.

Thank you, my point EXACTLY! It shouldn't be cracking, especially after the first run. Seems to me it should be a warranty replacement (for free), not a Crash replacement "discount".

It only happened to me once, but cracked in two places on the pack, this all on the first run.

If, and I say if, one of the 8 SMC batteries I have ever crack, I will
just toss it in the trash and buy a new one.
Warranty, ya right.
