Hows does this matter with LiPo? I knew it made a difference with my NiCd packs but I was under the impression it didn't matter with these.

Thanks,
Mark

Charging at a higher rate makes the pack more punchy for the first few minutes.

warms up the lipo, reducing IR (internal resistance) giving it the punch.

There is no such thing as monthly coupon codes for SMC products. Frankly at his prices you really don't need them.

I'm VERY impressed with my factory spec 5000 mah 4s. Couldn't imagine running a hotter pack. This is plenty for my tekin 2050. Can't wait to actually race my 8th scale, this thing is a flipping BEAST!

Wondering how much better a race spec battery would be. Sounds like your factory spec is really good. I race 7.5 and 10.5 short course trucks and need to decide which type to buy.

Factory spec packs are great packs! Race packs will give you more when you need it IMO. I only run race packs and sometimes it feels like you have a lower turn motor in there... Crazy power.

I plan on picking up a race pack as well. So far the factory spec pack seems great with my 2050. I like the power it puts down, but once our first race day comes around ill see how much run time I get out of it.

With my 7.5, I have so much power I wonder if I need the extra boost of a race spec battery.

Im not knocking SMC at all but Im a very visual person, this pack came to me slightly puffed which didnt bother me that much but now its a little bigger. Danny has said that slight puffing does not hurt the pack and I can attest that this pack is not any slower.
But when you put it in the car the battery strap looks all tweaked.
I wonder if the case is a little smaller than it should be not leaving room for expansion. I really like these cells and the price and will continue to buy just wondering out loud. IR is still low and the cells are still within the normal range

The cases are made of a thin softer plastic, and the cells inside use up every last bit of space. Other brands use a harder and/or thicker plastic which makes them seem not to puff as much.
