SMC LIPO BATTERY THREAD

Here's the bottom line. When I posted about the price increase yesterday, the bolded prices weren't crossed out and the red prices weren't there. Danny must have been updating the site when I posted. All is still well.

you need to read the whole story before taking things out of context.Rc*phreak and i where talking about the 7200 AND the 6500 the price I quoted
was for the 6500. It is back to 44 again.

Those packs came from a different manufacturer, with the problems Danny was having with his shipments he decided to get all his packs from the same place. The reason those packs were cheaper is because the supplier was not the best. All SMC packs are now coming from what Danny believes to be the best one out there with the highest quality packs.

LOL...I think Phreak explained the issue in his most recent post. He probably was looking at the website while it was being updated and it didn't have the correct info listed. The 6500's have been $44.95 for quite some time.

I recieved my 4s 6500 pack and it was much better than my gens ace packs, I wish I would have ordered 2 instead of just 1! I ended up running it all night & in the main. I didn't want to mix running the gens ace pack with the smc pack because the punch is much more with the smc pack & I would have to adjust my throttle finger input, so to stay consistent I just ran the smc pack. It ran flawlessly and I was extremely happy with it! Thanks again Danny!

Has anyone ran both the 6500 and 7200 2s 70c lipos? I looked at the weight of these batteries and the 7200s aren't that much heavier so I'm considering getting them. Is there a noticable performance difference between the 6500s and the 7200s besides runtime? Is it enough to justify the higher cost?

Yes you get more run time but you have more juice left in the pack near the end so your not getting the voltage sag that you would from the 6500 on a comparable run.
I run to a LVC of 7v and hit it around 13+ minutes with my Mugen or Tekno truck. That's plenty of juice left and I didn't feel any loss of power in the last few minutes. That also means that I'm not draining as much from the pack each time I run so the pack will live a happier life.
5 to 7 minute main? Cake walk.
