I have the shorty 4600's on b/o also. I also have 7200's waiting for the 4600's to come in. I sent e-mail to cancel the shorties so I could get my 7200's he emailed saying the 4600's shorties will be in the week. So I didn't cancel my shorties

I hope they come in early this week. I need my 7200's or I can't race next week.

Are SMC lipos really that good? Punch and Durability?

Anyway, I ordered 2 of the 7.4V 6500mAh 70C Inboard lipos. That was 2 weeks ago. What's the usual wait time for a SMC battery to come back in stock?

I have been running orion 4s lipos in my mbx7 Eco. I've been thinking about trying smc packs. Any experience with how the smc 4s 6500 is compared to the orion 4s?

Danny said he has a shipment due in the end of this week, But that all depends on the Christmas Holiday and we all know shipping takes a bit longer during this season.

As for the 4s packs, I personally do not have any experience with them, but I know people that have them and they say they are as good or in most cases better than the ones they were running that cost twice as much. I know my 2s packs are way better than the ones I had been running and they were 1/2 the cost.

I've got some orion 2s 100c packs and the smc's out perform them. Orion and maxamps have to be some of the most over rated over priced packs on the planet. 100c/150c my @$$! Try the smc packs and you will see what I mean, for the money they are excellent quality and performance the is real!

I have to concur with you sir. I just got a 5K 50C inboard and it has better punch than my Gens Ace 60C shortie.

Is the Gens Ace new? You can't really compare a brand new battery to one that you have been using for awhile.

Yeah, it would be a little more fair if you compared an old SMC to a new gens ace

Only reason I say that is because I have had just about every brand of Lipo there is. It seems like when new, no matter what brand they all have the same amount of "punch". It's after a few cycles you can really tell the performance and quality of a pack. When I was running 4wd SC you can really tell the difference in performance of a pack. Max Amps was the biggest disappointment ever. I have two SMC's, one has about 20 cycles threw it and the other is brand new. So far the one I have been using is holding up VERY well.

So my SMCs finally shipped. I'm predicting I won't notice much of a difference from my g-Force batteries that I'm plenty happy with even after many, many mah. But I'll see.

why does it seem like most people have come to accept a pack doesn't last much after 20-30 cycles the way it did from #1?
are we that conditioned to accept a lip is not going to last as it should?
I'm going to be pretty pissed if a $70 battery doesn't last 2 years min. not including damage to it.
these batteries are very expensive for what they are. most people complain about a car battery being that much and lasting 5-7 years of constant use.

we shouldn't be letting battery companies off the hook so easily when it comes to cycle life of these things. if they can't build them to last longer then the price needs to come way way down. that's just my opinion.

I have 2 4s smc factory spec 5000mah 50c batteries and one of them gets more out of balance than the other one after a few cycles. and one of the cases is cracked. I've only had them since thanksgiving.

A lot of that depends on what you're using them in. Low amp draw setup...probably not gonna see any difference. High amp draw setup...maybe. I suppose the question needs to be asked...if you were plenty happy with your g-force packs then why switch?
