That's probably sage advice and I'm not hear to bash SMC, but I can tell you I've used this routine on many different types/sizes/brands of Lipos in the last 4 years and I've never had a problem save for the SMCs. I don't doubt that I've probably been getting away with a bad habit all this time and at this point I intend to follow your advice and not charge them fully until right before I intend to use them.

I am already a very happy SMC customer but now added a nitro buggy. I am looking on line at the receiver pack on the website and am not sure if this will work in my Mugen MBX6? Pretty sure it will not work in the spot my NiMH pack does but thinking maybe in the spot next to the radio tray? Any input is greatly appreciated.

I personally have found that most of my packs are right in the storage voltage range after a typical race time run. I have had great luck with leaving lipos that have been run until next race time. If they are going to not be used for a few weeks or more I will storage charge/discharge them for sure!
I have several packs that are on their 3rd season that still run very strong, they have a little bit of expansion at this point but still run great!

my SMC packs are great, however I have left another brand with a charge for too long and it took a long time of rejuvenation on my Junsi to get back to life.

My 7200s have at least 300 cycles on them, one or two are in the 500 cycle club. The 500 cycle ones are now relegated to 2wd mod so I don't overdo it with the 4wd sc, but these things hold up great if you treat them right.
