I assume Nikos means that the esc allows more current through than many others, and that's what may cause drop!?

Question before I order, do both the standard and "R" versions of the black edition come with the different capacitor (eg not soldered straight to esc but with a length of wire)? I have a car with a tight fit in it!

Never did fix my temp issue fully at cactus, but I am wondering if that is probably because the first time toasted the magnet and made it less efficient? On one run it came off at 210 degree's!! To its credit it still kept working, but definitely felt soft!!

huh, the BE comes with the cap on a wire and presoldered to the esc. The orange esc has a low profile cap soldered to the esc.

getting an error, "connection fail" on my progauge. my system is new from christmas and came in the VTX10R 7.5 combo. the system works great now and the progauge worked fine the 2 times i used it in the past. now it wont connect to the esc. however it powers on and i can scroll through the first menue set and look at voltage if I want. always kept in the box and stored safely, looks perfect still. I have only used the system maybe 10 times total,
Is the problem coming from the progauge, esc or what? my gut is telling me esc as i have not even really used the progauge. yikes
thanks much

Had a warranty issue with me Viper 4.5... As stated in an earlier post. VIPER did an awesome job and get my motor turned back around in under 10 days!!! THANK YOU for the great service!!!

Now all I need is a 1/8 motor for my 2.0T and 2.0B to go along with the VTX8!!! When will those be available???

Oh, ok I will try again tonight.
I don't think it was in program mode last time I did it. I think it just worked. I might be wrong tho, it's been a while.
Thanks wildcat

No I did not, my SC10 4x4 previously had the MMP paired with the Pro4 4600, and before that it had the CC 3800kv. But the MMP died so I was just looking to replacing the ESC. I now wish that I spent the extra $30 and got the combo with the VX4R.45 though. All I can say is that I am now a big fan of Viper and will be my ESC of choice from now on. Haven't tried a motor yet though so maybe in time I will try them out as well.

ok, I love the vtx10 and I love the button switch. So here comes the but....lol. At first I thought it was just me, then I talked some guys at the track into buying vipers. A week later they asked me if I had issues with the switch. My first reaction was no. Then they told me, "Ok, I keep trying to turn it off and half the time it goes into program mode". Then, I had to agree with them. I was having issues, but then just started to unplug the battery to turn it off. So now everyone here just unplugs the battery and ignores the on/off switch. I am sure 30+ people will chime in with how easy it is to hold it for 5 seconds, but I sometimes how it for 10-15 seconds and it still goes into program mode. Like I said, we just unplug it and call it a day. Just my 2cents if you guys every come out with a new firmware. Maybe some sort of fix there.

Hahaha I thought it was just me being a bit "special" that meant it didn't turn off half the time!! Glad to hear it isn't just me!

I used to unplug the battery, but now I use the switch. Have to use my fingernail to turn it off; pushing with the pad of my finger will usually put it into program mode. hah.
