So i lowered the LVC to 5.0v and the vtx8 ESC dosnt reset under hard acceleration. But im not very comfortable with settign the LVC like that. Im thinking, i ditch the tekin pro4, put my vtx10r in my sct410 and buy the vst4.5xl or 5.0xl for it, then put the vtx8 in my 8.2e and get a good 1/8 motor. Lol

you don't need a 56. stick with the 54, and try a 12T pinion first. I'm at 13T/54 right now with the 4500kv system and I run cool.

Had an issue with my vtx 10 this weekend. I was running my 17.5 in a 13.5 class, so I added a little timing and boost to keep up. I added 10deg timing and 5 deg boost with a slew of 7. I had 44deg on the can of the reedy sonic and 30/72 gearing in my losi 22. I know that esc timing and motor timing is not ideal, that is why i kept it light. But my buggy kept stopping. After about 5-10 seconds, it would go again for a lap or so, then stop. Normally when I let off the trigger while in the air. It would land and simply stop. I have the motor temp protection off and the esc set to 220. I was not able to get a good temp, because my rear wheel fell off lol. And the car sat next to the turn marshel for a minute or so. When I got it to my bench the esc was 135ish and the motor was 145 ish. It was running fine before I turned off blinky, so I assume that was the cause, but any feedback would be great. I think if i boost it again I will go back to 20 deg on the can and 35/15 timing/boost.

what was your lvc before? I always hate to go below 3.1v per cell.

6.4v was the default I lowered it to 5.0v just for testing purposes. As I would never race with the LVC that low.

it was doing this with a freshly charged pack? Or a ways into running it? If it was the lvc, I would expect that to happen 5 minutes or so in. You have a 5000 mah pack and I am not sure that will run a 6 minute heat. I think most of the guys running the heavy SC's in 4x4 run at least 6600.

Not fully charged was about 75%. I'm switching from nitro so I need to buy some good packs. Not new to the hobby just new to larger scale electric. Always ran 1/10 electric and 1/8 nitro. Going ALL electric now. So I'm a noob that's not really a noob lol.

what 4wd? the sc10 4x4 is very light. The tekno is almost 7 lbs and will draw heavy current.
Duro, try 3.1v per cell and see how that works for you, but in all honest, 5k mah is not enough for that heavy truck. I think some people were using almost 5k in a 6 minute heat. That is why many went to the 7200 SMC packs. Which are out of stock right now. If you can, borrow a pack wth more mah and try it out.
