Just to make sure (not sure if this has been covered or not)
Anytime you make a change (for example, drag brake from 20% to 30%), you need to press enter before backing out of that particular setting. |
hmm, i cant say for sure. I was doing this for over 2 hours. After I hit esc and went back into the setting is showed my changes. So I assumed it took. Once, maybe twice, I made all of my changed and before exiting to save, I rechecked all of the setting and it seemed fine. The setting didnt revert until after I unpluged and power down the esc.
|
yeah if you don't go back into run mode though before powering down, nothing else really matters
|
Yeah, I plan to try that when i get home. that will be the first thing I try. Like I said the laptop automatically put it into run mode when I disconnected. That is what made me wonder, since that was the only change that stuck.

Is there a PDF for the controller and/or Viper Link?
|
I was looking over Andy's 17.5 setup sheet on the viper website. He lists NA for the PWM on throttle and brake. Says he didnt use esc timing to keep the esc cool, bu then the sheet says 35deg timing. His max brake is 45% but the max dynamic is 100%. I though the dynamic braking was more for onroad and caused weirdness in offroad because the the jumps.

If you mean for the User's manual, yes, there is on www.viper-rc.com and look up the model of ESC and scroll down to the download section under each ESC

ok, I went into my viper several times with the PC link and with the PG. I am good to go now. All I can say is. If you dont push that red button some crazy things happen. When I got home and switched it from profile 8 to profile 3, the profile 3 setting were hella jacked up. 1% forward power, practice mode, 1% drag, start rpm of 30000k and finish rpm of 4500. 60 deg timing, etc. No idea where these setting came from. I assume not pushing the red button after programing to put it into run mode, seriously jacks up the system. I think I might just reset the esc to factory setting and reconfigure profile #3. As I dont trust any of the profiles right now, lol.

oh and hey, don't complain cause now you have too much power :sneaky: |
One thing to remember guys, this isn't and old school esc system. This baby has some serious computing power behind it. And the scary thing is -- we aren't using everything it's got yet!!!! :sneaky: :sneaky:
