Both the buggy and truggy motors will have kv options from about 1300kv to 2400kv. Because the 1/8 motors are still in development there may be minor alterations to the final kv options. We will have something very close to your target.

Thanks :) None of our esc's are available quite yet. We're working really hard to get the 1/10 esc's out. There's still some development to be done. Once the Vtrax10 and the Vtrax10R are finalized, the Vtrax8 and VtraxOne will follow very quickly.

low_dakota94 11-22-2010 10:23 PM

Sweet, I'll keep an eye on the website. Thanks again for the info!:D

BOLISARIO 11-22-2010 10:29 PM

Thanks for the info. Looking forward to trying your products, especially 1/8.

I started my own thread to see if anyone's got any more info about your company. Glad someone from Viper RC chimed in on RCT.

I have been checking occasionally to see if anyone was asking questions yet. I must have missed your thread. I finally decided we needed something official!

SaladFork 11-23-2010 12:50 AM

Nice looking stuff Weylin! Looking forward to the 1/10th ESC's.

And if anyone was asking about preformace of the Viper stuff, I haven't tried anything from them but one of the local racers is sponsored by Viper and is unbeatable, literally walks away in mod buggy every week.

sirio76 11-23-2010 01:09 AM

Why 360 day warranty for esc and only 180 for motors?

4wd Racer 11-23-2010 01:26 AM

Looking at the numbers here, their 360 days esc warranty still by far exceeds the typical 120 days (which is like 1/3 of a year at best offered by most manufactures for their esc. Also most put out their motors for 90-120 days warranty, and their 180 days exceeds that as well.

In addition, nothing wrong with putting different time warranty frames on two entirely different types of products, i.e. either esc or motor. A pc interface device could have a different warranty frame. It's totally up to the company to decide this on their end. Their warranty exceeds the norm in both cases by far.

mini-dub 11-23-2010 02:24 AM

4wd racer hit it on the nose many other esc's and motors on the market only have a 90 or 120 day warranty. Motors and esc's are completely different pieces of equipment and you cant expect equal lifespan out of each.

Ok, they are different types of products, but they suppose to work together...in fact many producer offer them as combo just like castle or tekin and many other... If you go buy a car(1:1) and the dealer tell you: the car have 3 years warranty but the motor have only 1 year, what do you think about it? Anyway nothing wrong with 180 days, I was just curios about the difference between motor and esc...

This is common place in cars. Many have 36,000 bumper to bumper and 100,000 on the drivetrain.

I see your point, just the comparison was a little off:D

I agree stuff looks nice and this is a nice plug but I'm pretty sure people are sponsored because they're fast, they're not fast because they're sponsored.:D

4wd Racer 11-23-2010 11:23 AM

Good point Siliro, I like that view point you brought up. On one hand, I would suppose that if the esc and motor were sold separately from each other, the different warranty times would be understandable.

However, as you brought up with your real life 1:1 car warranty example, I was thinking if the motor/esc were sold together "as in a combo package", maybe a blanket warranty time frame (i.e. same warranty days for both in combo package) might work as you suggested.:)

Neu_Racer 11-23-2010 11:24 AM

Are these going to be distributed to dealers or sold only through your shop?

Only curious because I don't wanna pay the near 10% sales tax Seattle charges.

Really glad to see another NW company emerge and hope it's successful!

RCaddict0 11-23-2010 11:36 AM

Cool! The motors look like Redlines. American made?

mini-dub 11-23-2010 01:43 PM

Let's clarify this warranty discussion to remove any confusion.

Viper R/C Solutions provides a 180-day (6 months) warranty on all motors or other mechanical products.

Viper R/C Solutions provides a 365-day warranty on all ESCs or other electronic items that connect directly to a battery or other power supply.
Therefore, ESC is covered by a 365-day warranty (not 360 day, which was mentioned earlier, that was a typo).

As for the combo warranty, it simply follows our policy. That is the motor belongs to mechanical product, and the ESC belongs to electronic product. The warranty of combo will count on the customer's invoice/ receipt. There wont be any confusion. We are giving customers better protection on their valuable Viper products by offering a longer warranty.

Yeah, it's a little steep isn't it? They are available both through distributors and through our online shop. The main purpose of our online shop is to provide customers with an immediate means of purchasing the motors while they make their way to hobby shops around the country (and internet). Keep an eye on Amain :sneaky:

We are an American company, but our products are made in our factory in Taiwan.

BOLISARIO 11-23-2010 07:42 PM

Looking forward to your 1/8 ESC and motors.

I really hope your 1/8 esc's can handle the abuse that 1/8 buggies and truggies place on electronics. I want to be able to land a huge quad with confidence that my esc will continue to work right after and not blow the magic smoke or go out in a blaze of glory.:lol:;)

wyd 11-23-2010 07:45 PM

mini dub thanks for taking the time to get back to me. I did run the 17.5 fixed timed motor tonight in my SCT and overall it wasn't bad at all. I found the motor to have a good amount of snap and my laptimes were very close to my normal 17.5 I run. I ran it twice overall with my same settings I use on my other 17.5 that also has about 10 degrees extra timing and it help its own. Laptimes say I was within a tenth so with more time on it I can even make the fixed timing one a little faster so either way I would say these motor run very well. Very nice overall.

Its going to be ineteresting to see what else you guys come up with. Everything The Hidden Hanger has from you guys is pretty cool. Nice that I get to try it out.:D

Also had another guy try out the fixed timed 13.5 in his dirt oval car and found out that it to was very fast even with no extra timing in the motor. His laptimes again were very good overall. He thought with a little messing around on the speedo he could of made the one test one go as fast as his higher timed 13.5 he normally uses.

Not a problem, glad you got a chance to try the pre-production samples. Sorry those samples had fixed timing, when you get yourself a production motor with fully adjustable timing I'm confident it will outperform your old motor. The timing increase on the motor itself greatly improves the low to mid range powerband, as well as adding some straightaway rpm. Did you guys make sure to gear up from the other motors? Our motors are high watts and have lots of torque, despite being super smooth, so they prefer a taller gear.

We are working hard to create a line of extremely durable speed controls. Part of that is very robust mechanical construction to handle 1/8 offroad abuse. Rest assured we are working on that :tire:

I was up a tooth overall and maybe could of gone more. I might try the motor again this Sunday in a heat race if my new setup works good. If my truck works then I will have a real good comparison.

The 13.5 guy did gear up just a little so not to get it too hot on its first run or two. After that he added a little more speedo timing and added another tooth or so on the oval and was very pleased with how it ran.

I know Luke will be ordering some of the production versions with the adjustable timing as soon as they are available. If don't know when just let Luke know at The Hanger because he will order some. I know I'm going to get a new 17.5 when he gets them in. Need to have at least two 17.5's just incase something happens to one while I'm racing. I hate to borrow stuff from other racers.

Glad to hear it! We keep all our dealers and customers very informed :D We will have 10.5, 13.5, and 17.5s in a couple weeks. Thanks for your feedback.

Two questions:
1. When?
2. How much?

BOLISARIO 11-24-2010 09:54 PM

One question I've been meaning to ask. Will the street price of your esc's(both 1/10 and 1/18) be in the price range of a Tekin/LRP/Novak Kinetic or affordable like a Castle MMM or MMP?

jag5508 11-24-2010 10:05 PM

Everything looks good I just hate red .

I'm assuming you meant 1/8, not 1/18, as we wont be offering any micro car equipment. Yes currently announced product lines will be in the Tekin/LRP/Novak ballpark. I assure you it will be a great value though. Don't forget all Viper esc's will include the ProGauge 5in1 tool!

The direction of future product lines is endless :sneaky:

See my above post for pricing concepts. As for release date we don't have an exact ETA yet. We are still in testing and development. I would expect them early 2011.
