I want to run a VST 4.5T motor on a large outdoor track, where high RPM is more important than torque. As I understand, the 4.5T comes with a 12.3mm rotor and a fan.

- Should I remove the fan form the rotor to achieve higher RPM? Do you think that might damage the motor?

- If I replaced the rotor with an optional 12mm, would it suit my track better?

Thanx!

My progauge does not "connect" when I try to use it. I hook everything up according to the directions but when I hit the "ok" button to go into the menus the "connection failed" message appears.
I've hooked it up all sorts of different ways just to be sure. I've re-checked everything to be sure it's done properly all to no avail.
HELP!!

What firmware do you have? The latest A55 is the easiest to connect.

You have the ESC in program mode before you hook it up right?

I had this happen once but I forget why...and it only happened once.

I'm not sure which version I have. I'll have to see if I can determine that with still getting the error message. Do you know how to do this?

Thanks for your reply.

If I remember, I'm supposed to hit the "on/off" button one quick time, correct? At least that's what the video told me to do. :) Didn't work any of the multiple times I tried. Thanks for trying to help. Any other ideas?

That's how it works with the a55 firmware. The older firmware requires you to press the button for a few seconds.

Ohhhhhhh........ so if I press the button for a few seconds that should do it? Oh man, I so hope you're right. I'll try it shortly and post back my results.

Thanks in advance!!

Yes you need to press and hold for like 2 seconds...not long enough to turn if off. It is in program mode if the red and orange lights are blinking.

When it's in "connect mode" the outside two lights will be lit. If they aren't lit it won't connect.

Wires will be per-soldered on esc for you. Just have to add the type of plug you are using for the battery and solder to motor (A-A, B-B, C-C).

Two biggest mistakes we normally see when people plug in the ProGauge is:
- car has to have power to start with
- after gauge is plugged in, push the Vport (power) button one time. You will see the orange and red lights on the VPort, then choose link device.

You don't have to hold the button down but you do have to actually press it. Don't worry, it can take it. :D
