Wildcat, Team Viper is not responsible for broken suspension parts due to insane power

I am sure the power i was lacking last week will be ample. I will probably be turning it down. Dont want any fires.

There is no standard for how the measurements are taken. So everyone has different numbers. The VST 10.5 is plenty quick!

finally got to run my new vtx10 8.5 system in my 22sct. just ran it in my street for a few minutes. Wow seems butter smooth. But 2 questions, I have not changed any of the settings out of the box on the esc or the motor. It seems to be kind of slow, and doesnt seem to have very strong braking. Im sure its just something that I need to change with the pro gauge, but im confused on how to work the pro gauge. suggestions? Using a 18 tooth pinion and the stock spur on the 22sct.

Well for one thing go up two teeth on the pinion for sure. The ProGauge is pretty simple once you get the hang of it. From run mode hole red button for 3 sec and release to put it in program mode (Red and Orange lights blink). Plug in PG and when it comes on press enter to link device. I would go with Profile #2 for your setup (thanks to Bob) and work from there. After you make the changes make sure you save and after you remove the PG from the V Port hit the red button to put the VXT back into run mode before doing anything else.

Bob,

Thanks a lot man. Broke an arm and a shock shaft. You jinxed me. Car was plenty fast though

nikos2002 12-15-2012 06:17 PM

Wildcat -- DOH!!!!!:eek: But fast!!!:nod::nod::cool::cool::tire: :tire:

nikos2002 12-15-2012 06:18 PM

Tony - we do turn brakes down to 80 in the "stock" form. because there are so many different applications. Using the progauge, I normally run my brakes between 95-98, at 2500 brake htz.

Wildcat1971 12-15-2012 07:58 PM

anyway, the a55 firmware was SOOOOOO much better. If you dont have it, you should get it. I used half the timing and has 30% more power than with the a30. Brakes were about the same, smooth in both firmware. I could not gauge the temp well, because it was 42deg at the track... brrrrrrrrr. But so far I like the viper very much.

So I had a viper vtx10r paired to a trinity revtech 17.5 and it was great. I pulled the 10r out to put it in my sct with a viper 10.5 and put an lrp sphere competition in the place of the 10r and wow the lrp is a turd compared to 10r in every way. 10r was faster smoother better brakes smaller and better looking. Man now I need another viper esc to run my 17.5

Hi! I bought a Viper vtx10 combo with a 8.5 vst and pro gauge used with about 2-3 packs thru it about 6 months ago and I love it so far! Anyway my question is should I get v-link and update software will it make a performance difference in my B4.1 FTW? I don't want to mess with something that's not broke unless it's worth it! Thanks!

nagreend 12-16-2012 08:44 AM

I would like to purchase a VTX10 w/ 8.5 combo from Amain, as the shipping is cheap for 2 day air, but will their inventory have the new a55 and black caps installed, or are those the older models? It's a $40 difference with shipping between Amain and Viper's website, so I would prefer to go through Amain unless Viper can go cheaper on its shipping... Anybody know? Thanks in advance!

Tran901 12-16-2012 08:53 AM

I have a vtxr10 that needs to be fixed. It's t viper r/c now and they want $120 to replace it! So if you want a Viper vtx10r for cheaper than new I can sell it to you! I have the fan too new in package!

**nick and other Viper mods if I'm to allowed to do this just let me know!!

nikos2002 12-16-2012 08:59 AM

A Mains turns over enough inventory that everything of ours they are selling should be updated with a55 unless its was hiding in their warehouse somewhere.

savannah - when you plug it in the progauge and link the gauge it will show you the software.

And yes, we initially were a little conservative with a30, but turned the wick up on a55!!!

84 GT - thanks appreciate the kind words!!! Nice to hear it from others!!
