Today was the mains day of the Intergalactic Short Course Chamionships at CRC Raceway in Rome NY.
Viper Driver Mark Smyka was on site driving his Viper powered T-RCE Slash 4x4. Look for a writeup on this event in the next couple of days.
I am running the Copperhead R ESC and VX4R.45 motor. I'm geared 13/54. I started 10th in the B Main. The way the grid is setup, you all lineup down the back straight, the truck in the TQ spot basically gets a holeshot through the first corner. Everyone else has to blast to the corner, and hope you make it through without a scuffle.
The only reason for my post tonight is this.
When the tone sounded to start the B Main, we all punched the throttle. I had so much power, I passed 4 trucks in the 100' before the turn.
Everytime I hit the back straight, I would pull away from trucks behind me, and catch the trucks in front of me. SOOOOO Much power. The combo worked well all weekend. It shutoff on me once, just as I was finishing a heat, because the battery connector wire came off, but on the battery side, not on the ESC side.
After the 8 minute main, in 90+ degree heat, I came off the track at 138 degrees. Cannot ask for more than that, Thanks Viper!

godofcable - How did Mark do he didn't answer my text?? Glad you liked it!! Wish I could gain 4 spots on the opening lap of the a main

Grasshopper - congrats - sorry, family weekend (after being gone all week) - chasing dolphins in the Atlantic ocean!! The setup you posted is a baseline we have been using for about a year. Guess you liked it. BTW - no never saw that type of error without running before, let me know if it happens again.
Steve - I answered your email
Andrew - nice upgrade right!!!!

I have not yet tried the VTX10R setup, but I run the Copperhead R and a VX4R.45 motor in a Slash. Geared 13/54 (stock spur) I have more top end than anyone else on the track, and just as much if not more low end punch.

Grasschopper will be at the Rt218 Offroad Raceway in Friedens, PA. Final race of the points series for the year, if I show up and start the main I'm 4th if I don't show up I'm 6th or 7th. I just wish I had gotten back into racing earlier in the year so I didn't miss the first half of the points series.
But now to the real question: Is it worth it to pay more and get the VXT10R BE and a VST 8.5t for my B4.1 or should I get a regular VXT10R/VST8.5t combo? 10% off at A Main this weekend and I'm going to be saving a LOT of money.

Grasshoper - get the 10R if you plan on running a crazy low mod motor or use it with a 550 motor in the future. If not, save the coin and get the regular 10.
But we both know if you save money to get the 10, something else will end up in the cart on A Main - it always does
