Guys and Girls, let those folks who represent Viper handle this situation. While you might not agree with everything that happened you don't represent Viper and you don't represent the customer. Therefore, it would be in your best interest not to make anyone mad because in the long run nobody wins.

With that said, I don't have any problem with you sharing your experiences.

Customer input is as important as company information. Of course companies can do things different and so can consumers..

Thumbs up Thank you Viper

Last week I came accross a couple of issues with two VTX10R esc's. I contacted Viper through their web site and within minutes I got a response.
Two different guys (Eric and Willy) try to help me. Both of them were great, they took their time and asked a lot question and offered possible solutions to address the situation. I end up sending the espeed controls back to them.
I filled up the form from their web site... the process was easy. Today I received the esc's back. Wow, that was fast!!!!
Eventhough it was an inconvinience to ship the esc's back it is great to know the indeed Viper stands by their product. As a hobbiest I do appreciate the companies that stand by their product and just wanted to say "thank you Viper" for the great costumer service and great product as well.

Just received my replacement Copperhead VX4R.45 from viper.

I'll give it a good flogging tomorrow and they sent me a pre-paid label to ship the broken one back.

Sucks that they didn't catch this before they made it out to the public but they are doing a GREAT job fixing the issue. And I have a feeling the motor will perform great from what I hear from people that tested them.

Had a chance to test out my new replacement Copperhead 4500. Worked great! thanks viper for taking care of it!

I ran a full 2s 5000mah 40c gens ace through my SCTE. In profile 2 and 3. Full 18-20 minutes later I hit Low voltage cuttoff. Only stopping a few times to check temps.

I was hammering it fullspeed up and down a street, in a dirt field, in some gravel, grass.

Motor temps were 140-148 depending on where I put my heat gun when I stopped. ESC Temp was 99. Battery was 86 degrees.

Looking good I'll try another pack through it soon.

Might try a 14.

At least i thought i hit LVC.. my battery is at 3.6v per cell now. I think profile 2 has the LVC pretty high though.

What is a recommended temp? I think i'm probably fine for the track..in 5 minutes the motor was barley warm. I know the manual says don't exceed 160.

Also my buddy got his replacement copperhead today and has been running it today with no issues.

Default Viper

I run a VTX1/13.5VST combo in my MOD SC10 and VTX10/17.5VST in my Stock SC10. I have not had a single problem with any of it. The pro gauge makes everything real easy to program. It is easy to calibrate, and works great. I am actually running older firmware with no problems at all. And another great feature is how small they are. I put these ESC's in the battery tray of my SC10. It fits under the factory team battery strap perfect. I honestly hope I never have to vouch for the the customer service aspect of Viper (No offense guys)...

As for arguing on this site, please do it on the PM side of the house. I find alot of the comments hilarious but I try to look on this forum for helpful info, I don't want to scan through 10 pages of bickering to find one guys helpful info.

I have had nothing but great help from you guys whether its a Viper employee helping with gearing or a member sharing his pro gauge settings... Please don't stop...

Thanks,

Tim

Hey Everyone, just wanted to give everyone an update after a long day o practice at Motorama.

Steve Downs and I completed 3 rounds each of practice with the production Copperhead/VX4 combos. The motors ran great. More than capable to keep up.

Paul Sinclair Mark Symky are running the new Black Edition motor and looking good in 4wx, 2wd, and Mod Short Course.

There are a few others team drivers here. Everyone was looking good during practice. I Took some pictures and CIA. I will try to post them, but right. Time to sleep.

I'm kind of new to electric so all the numbers on motors and speed controls still confuse me. What is THE best set up for sc10 4x4. And how would it compare to the tekin pro4 4600

Eric,
Update.
Installed glitch bluster drove for 10 mins no problem.
Went to do Heat 1. Did one lap to count for transponder, was unable to drive the car 1 foot after that. all it did was glitch.

Replaced receiver did heat 2 no problems

Did not change a thing for Main.

Made it 3 laps into the main. Started to glitch. did it about 5 times in 5 mins.
After the race I was looking at the car. IF you hit the gas the receiver light flashes red. It will stop working for about 1 second than start up again.

I am going to test a few more things and see how it works out. Might not know anything till Wednesday night.

If it keeps doing this, Di I need to send ESC or motor and ESC?
