Jumpinj- If the LED's were flashing its an indicator of what the issue was - different combinations will show for motor or esc temps being too high. Just the green flashing when you turn it on is that the esc can not find neutral on the radio. If it happens again, keep the manual close by - it shows the different error codes from the LED's.
urluzn - glad Smyka could hook you up. I hope you get to come to the SC Showdown at RCE, stop by the table and say hi.

I know Billy got the newest samples just before the race. I don't know if he was planning on running them or not. Sometimes it's hard to test samples at a big race, track time is so precious.
So the answer is --- maybe..........

Well I guess the 4000kv pro4 doesn't work with the vtx10r I tried it on my street and it worked great but when I ran it at the track it would just crap out randomly and was not so fast. So I got me a viper 4.5 550 and it runs great really fast and smooth. Anybody want to buy a tekin 4000kv pro4?

Billy had that motor there. Not sure if he tested it or not but i ran a viper 2050kv motor in my buggy all weekend long. From 140 to 180 degrees

I have had a problem like jumpinj, but not so random from what i noticed its when i case or take a harder hit (landing or by other rc) i still have steering but not forward or reverse. It only happend 2 times last night seemed like it was resetting its self. Could it be the switch? I cant check what the leds are showing because im on the stands and having a very novice corner marshal giving you a blank stare as you ask him to see what it is flashing sounds frustrating. I had the esc mounted to the chassis at one point when it happend but i thought it was happening because i had it mounted that way. So i bought a new battery tray and it still happend. But in all love this setup very easy to program has good torque and for being senorless it is very smooth!

Hi Nick and Viper team,
Excellent results for Viper at first round of the South African off road National champs held this past weekend.
Eben Coetzee with Durango 2wd and 4wd fitted with Viper systems took 2nd place overall in 2wd modified and 1st place overall in 4wd Mod. Both races were highly contested with all top SA drivers present.
Abri Kohn with TQ St Truck and midmount buggy fitted with Viper systems took 1st overall in ST Stock and 3rd overall in 2wd Stock. Again both races highly contested.
The systems performed flawless in very hot conditions with outside tempretures over 30 degrees celcius.
Race report send to Viper.
Thanks jADRENALyNE Racing (our sponsor and distributor of Viper products in SA) for the excellent support and congrats with the results. Viper is slowly but surely making a statement in SA!
Cheers

Raced last night at crispy critters raceway in NJ 2wd and 4wd shortcourse ended up with 2 tq's and 2 wins in the Amain!
Very Happy my viper 17.5 combo ran super smooth and loads of power only issue is I keep getting tech'd...LOL
Ran the copperhead 5150 in my SCTE and it was amazing! so smooth! I let 5 guys at the track run the system and 4 out 5 could not believe it wasn't sensored that is how smooth it ran.
Unit came in profile 3 and ran 147 at the motor after 6min main geared 14/40 esc was 139 at the orange case and 115 above fan. 6200 60c battery was using just under 3000 mah every 5min qual.
Wondering if I should gear down or go to profile 2 which will have a little less motor timing, throttle punch and start power to cool it off a bit?
Speed is definitely not an issue because I had to be the fastest car down the straight.
Any help would be great!

At my local track we run 13.5 (super stock) for short course. I've been previously running no timing and struggling to keep up. Most of the guys run boosted/timed Tekin setups. No timing was ok for my skill level until this most recent track change.
The triple on the right side of the screen, I can't make it. The tekin boys will over shoot it most of the time. I will case most of the time. I had a couple of guys drive my truck and they felt it was down on power.
My most current setup....
AE SC10 with 81/22 gearing
A19..... I need to order the link cord so I can update
Profile #3
Throttle:
PWM 9600
Punch 100%
Motor power:
Acceleration boost
start 3000rpm
finish 15000rpm
Max timing 30°
top speed timing
Slew 10°/100rpm
max 35°
The motor can is at the stock setting of 30°
This is my 1st real timing ESC so I'm kind of lost on how to make this 13.5 fast. I'm sure I'm doing it all wrong other then my temps are good

The gearing is in the ballpark, so I would check if you are getting full throttle on the ESC. Pull the sensor wire off the motor and pull wide open on the radio and see if you get a solid "F" light.
With the amount of timing you are adding and the gearing, you should be either real fast or over-heating it.
Set you Accel Boost RPM to:
Start - 4500
Finish - 12000
Timing 10
Top Speed - I would set to zero and test. With the layout you really don't have a strait-away to use it.

I dissabled the top speed timing and dropped the accel boost to 10°. I didn't change range (1st was a typo, editied my 1st post). I pulled the car a little before 3 minutes due to a sudden drop in punch and speed. The motor was at 220°. I guees I should have set my timer to less time then 3 miuntes. The motor has no magnetic drag now so I killed it the rest of the way. I'm thinking it was weak before I started to run timing, making it very difficult to find a tune/setup. I did purchase it used, after I got it I found posts by the user that he could not keep his temperatures down.....
I'm going to order a new rotor if you guys think I would be ok. Also, what rotor would be the best for a SC truck. And a good starting gear ratio would be good.
