with a tekin pro4 motor. as Salad said its anyones guess how its going to run.

I ran mine with a a couple viper motors and a novak 5.5. the esc temps were fine.

Ill have to look back and find the info for you. i quoted a setup we got from raegan hopefully its still up.

went ahead and did the search and found it here you go buddy.

(esc temp 130-150)-(motor temp 150-160)

VST4.5XL-14tooth pinion. VTX10R-Profile#2, Brake strength 80%, Brake PWM freq 8000HZ, Brake curve linear, Neutral drag brake 10%, Throttle PWM freq 9600Hz, Throttle punch 15%-20%, Throttle curve linear, Deadband middle, no timing- default, no motor protection, esc protection 240 degrees. (esc temp 120-140)-(motor temp 150-170)

Track type Indoor Clay high bite for both test results. Tests were done in 3min-5min-10min intervals. The brake settings really helped cool down some temps. We also found the under geared motors will run very hot. Be sure to check your gearing, it is very important. I felt that the VST5.5XL was the better choice for indoor racing. The powerband seemed to be a lot wider and smoother for tighter tracks. The VST4.5XL was impressive but was a bit much for the track. Lap times were more consistent with the VST5.5XL, and the temps were much easier to manage. All of our testing was done with a fairly stock Losi TEN-SCTE, A very heavy 4WD short course as most of you already know. The settings provided here were a bench mark to help those who are new to the brand and even some who are quite familiar. Give these a try and let us know how they work at your track.

Quick note on the temp questions with 550 motors. I got to spend a little time with TLR Project Manager/Viper driver Ryan Dunford at the SC Nats and he told me he doesn't have issues with temp on the speed control, he has one of the prototype fan kits - hasn't used it. Try the settings listed as a recommended starting spot, remember that if you are pushing the equipment to get the most speed and power you can, be cautious as you start to run for 8, 10, 12 minutes. Today's batteries will let you do that, but the continued heat build over that time can cause issues (on any equipment). If you want to run for longer and longer time - maybe gear accordingly and a little more cautiously.

Too Funny…. We are saying the exact same thing, yet when I say it you are annoyed, flaming in fact.

Let the products speak for themselves instead of making false statements about how they compare to our proven products. Seriously….

You are mad at me for pointing out the truth rather than him for misleading you to begin with. Weird

It is NOT true and if you continue to claim it officially as a Viper employee we are going to have a problem. The 10R DOES NOT have almost double the fets of a Rx8, not even close.

I am happy to discuss the Rx8 and how it compares in other places where I do belong. Considering how similar the 10R is to our 3yr old original RSpro that also has 48fets we are very familiar with the performance abilities of the platform.

Can't believe you ...

Why even waste your time with the

A customer emailed me asking if this was true. Clearly this had more effect than just deceiving the Viper customers and had to be dealt with regardless of who made the statement. When I gently corrected him he admitted he was guessing and then made the false statement again!

You of all people know how this stuff can get out of hand and forums can spread bad information just as well as good if you do not put a fork in it. Couldn't resist...

Fortunately we usually have guys like Cherry around to keep us honest and call like it is

I personally own an RX8 and love it.. and planned on purchasing more Tekin products for my kids rc cars..

but... Too come in here with a bully attitude is a crock man.. If someone makes a false statement about your product in their house you can't just come into their house and call them out.. Brush it off be PROFESSIONAL??

Can't be tooting your own horn with these biting off more then you can chew bs come on man...

You're 2 great NW companies that make top tier products be each their own.. When I'm in someone elses house I DO NOT correct the way they raise their kids or discipline them if I don't agree with it.. This is VIPER's house if you cannot respect their house even if they're possibly spreading false information you gotta forget about it.. and let it be... the product will do the talking.. Now as a consumer.. I've got no product to represent so I can go around and bash anything and everything I want

Business owner to business owner....take this to a PM or phone call. Very un-professional IMHO.

ok i have products from both companys and they both are great , however your comment is the worst thing ive heard. if you own a buisness and someone is making false statements about your product, your lively hood depends on setting the record straight right then and there. Im not saying a false statement was made or wasnt made, but if it was then he had every right to come and set the record straight. All it takes is one statement, true or false and everybody and there brother knows about it before the days over

I've owned a business and have had another company talk bad about my business.. I didn't go walk in their door and set it straight.. I just went about my business and things were fine life goes on.. I'm sure I could of drove 20 miles up the road and walked in there yelling and screaming like I wanted too do.... but then I realized well crap I'm an adult business owner I can't be using these playground tactics.. My business was a little different it was service not product but still same logic.....
