12.5mm is what comes with a 7.5.

I have always been told larger rotor is more torque, smaller is more rpm. In basic terms.

I will not address anything except what I came here for. I know better than to come into your clubhouse and get all ruffled and scared. I do not belong here explaining the RX8 fet count and why it can handle considerably more power.

A Viper employee made a false claim and called out Tekin by name. If some of you would rather be mislead and lied to and even defend their actions that is entirely up to you. When someone is misleading the public about a Tekin product or trying to elevate their product with a false comparison, it will not be allowed.

It is NOT true and if you continue to claim it officially as a Viper employee we are going to have a problem. The 10R DOES NOT have almost double the fets of a Rx8, not even close.

I am happy to discuss the Rx8 and how it compares in other places where I do belong. Considering how similar the 10R is to our 3yr old original RSpro that also has 48fets we are very familiar with the performance abilities of the platform.

Just picked up a vtx10r to use in my 4x4 sc truck. Do you guys recommend using a fan on it? I will be running the tekin pro4 4600 motor. Thanks.

I know 2 guys who are running the vtx10r with a 550 motor in the losi ten- scte at full weight and from the temps i saw on the esc, there is no need for a fan, and this was in 95* weather, however with a different motor and track, there might be a need, but i would try it without first.

It's anyones guess to how the Tekin motor will run on the VTX10R. Viper recommends using a fan when using the 550's. We will be releasing a VTX10R fan kit by the end of the month. The VTX10's are tiny so moving that heat away from the ESC is more difficult than a larger foot print ESC, the fan will help. If you try it without the fan, temp the ESC every 3 minutes.

I run mine without a fan and have for months. We did have a few problems in high heat areas where the ambient track temps are 120 and above. As a safety precaution we are recommending using one moving forward.

Thanks Eastwood, I have not started on the sensored designs yet. I'm really looking forward to getting all these options out to you guys. Just buttoning up a few things on the sensorless versions, then on to the sensored.

The Viper will work fine, just make sure you turn the Throttle Punch down to 80% or less, or the ESC will overheat and shut itself off.

So I have to limit the punch to keep it from thermalling? If so sounds like I should put a fan on it.

Normally those are the LED's that flash when our product is over heated. dose it turn on and flash or do they start flashing after a while during a run?
