How are these motors compared to others on the market? I'm going to be running in a "blinky" 17.5 SC class and need to pick up a new motor.

Hey Matt, Most of us had to gear up 2-4 teeth over other motors.
its hard to compair 17.5 to 17.5 they are such a close class to race in!
but our motors are SUPER torque based (hence the gearing change)

Attention 4s users on VTX10 and VTX10R esc's - we have become aware of an instability issue when running 4s voltage which has been the cause of some esc failure. We are working on the solution now that will be a very simple and easy fix to perform. If you plan to use your VTX10/10R esc on 4s please contact us toll free at 1.866.206.8558. This notice does not apply to 2s and 3s users. Thank you!

had no clue people were using them for 4s applications already.

so can we put them on say a 1800 viper 1/8th buggy motor and run 4s?

No, they are a 1/10 controller and intended for 1/10 applications only.

Some people have tried them on 4s 1/10 applications (mostly guys building speed rigs).

Hey Matt - you still in NE?? We have had some great results here in the northeast in with the motors and speed controls in 17.5 "blinky" mode. Royce Berrio was in the A Main at the SC Showdown Series event in MA with it, runs very competitively at LIR with it on a regular basis - you know how those guys are!

Actually down in Texas now The SC showdown in Dallas is what I'm prepping for, Mike's Hobby Shop is hosting a leg in Sept. I'm running Tekin stuff right now, but being non-sponsored at the moment, I can keep all my options open

Picked up the VTX10/13.5 combo for the Blitz ESE last week and so far have been really impressed. Going from a non-sensored setup was quite a difference. Couldn’t believe how smooth and controlled the truck felt. I ended up with 25/83 for gearing which gave me plenty of speed out of the gate while keeping the temperatures in check.

The ProGauge turned out to be very simple to operate; in fact I didn’t even read the manual prior to connecting and making changes to the drive profile. Did have to read up on what some of the settings do, but the operation itself is very straight forward.

Having said all that, I’d like to suggest a few things for future updates:
1. Enable Motor Power settings in Practice mode.
2. Bump up the braking power when using reverse. The car has very little stopping power when rolling backwards.
3. Add a rubber plug or something for the V-Port socket to keep out the elements.
4. Enable Motor Power settings in Practice mode.
5. Oh yeah, almost forgot, please enable the Motor Power settings in Practice mode

Sounds good. If plans hold, I will see you down there. Viper is one of the Series sponsors - I went to RCE in MA, going to Trackside next weekend for round 2.

Being an on-road guys as well, you would like the smoothness of our system, but you still have all the power you need!!! Think about it.
