Glad hear you guys are not having issues with the Pro4 motors. We have been told by several customers that they have, which is why we caution everyone.

I think the problem would be with the 4600kv pro4. My 4000kv runs great!:D

losi---Chris. There are lots of factors that go into it. How free is your drive train? How tight is your gear mesh? How do you drive, full throttle all the time? Do you use a lot of brakes? Which profile did you use? Each one of these can effect speed and temp.

The drive train is smooth as butter, gear mesh perfect!!!:D

Like hyper said, maybe the 4600. I thought it was a very fast smooth combo with the 4000. I've ran mine for about 6months. But that was my experience.

gawith- it might have just been the gearing on the size of track. Different motor like different gear ratios. I only mentioned the other things because they can play a factor and are sometimes over looked.

Here are some tips straight from the pros. Viper has released a 4X Cap module that can boost performance in your on-road and off-road vehicles. It gives you smoother power and stronger brakes.

Here is the part number 6VSPCAP003

Here you can see the module installed next to a VTX10R. This setup during track testing was 2 tenths faster in touring car 17.5 Spec class and brakes hit stronger and smoother :sneaky:

More tips to come so stay tuned!!!!

How much is the viper one?

hmm. Why not offer a better (lerger) cap that comes with the ESC's? instead of having to spend another 25 on that cap if it helps so much?

I take it you install it from the battery leads and leave the factory caps on the ESC?
I may order one of these to see how it works on the Buggy

The stock ESC is great and adding a large capacitor won't make that much difference. Its the caps in series that benefit from more power and more braking strength. If we included this 4X Cap module then our esc price would have to go up. The stock capacitor is more than enough for most users. We are offering this Cap module as an option for those people looking for little more.

Caps have different ratings and quality. Viper made sure to get the best caps with the best quality. Cost is 25.99 at A-Main Hobbies Found Here

I totally knew the answer would be that these caps are of the highest quality

recently bought the copperhead system and 5150 kv motor that is prewired, question is which ports on the esc do the motor wires go into?

doesn't matter. hook it up and if the motor spins backwards, just switch any two wires.

Doesnt matter it's sensorless, plug them in in any configuration, and if the motor spins the wrong direction just swap any two wires.

ok i feel real dumb:lol: new to the brushless systems and couldnt find the detail in the instructions. thank you very much guys:)

Your info is wrong as caps in series will decrease in capacity (Allows for higher voltage though), but the caps in parallel such as the one you mentioned at a very premium price, increase capacity wich will aid in the power and braking benefits you also mentioned. If I sold my capacitor banks at this price, I would've been rich . Viper could've been more innovative though to go with such a nice ESC.
