Well I don't know what sunnyb's issues are.
But mine got taken care of very fast I got PM's from 3 different viper people. A phone call. and my Replacement tracking number was emailed to me today. All in one day. A+ for taking care of the manufacturing booboo on my motor. |
Sunny- all you need to do is fill out the form at the link I sent you and put the motor in the mail to us. We'll send you a replacement. If you have any other question keep PM'ing me. I have answered them all.

Anyone attending Motorama this weekend feel free to stop by the Viper booth and say hello!! Would be glad to show off some products, answer some questions and maybe let a few people peak at some test items.

Just as an FYI. I ran my VX4R.45 in an SC10 4x4 today for good 10 minutes. Up and down the street full throttle all the time. Through the grass around my house (wife wasn't happy). Motor barely got over 120* and ran good. No issues.
And this was a production motor!! My buddy also just got his VX4R.45 from amain on sunday and ran 1.5 packs through it full throttle up and down the street in his slash 4x4. Had no issues. 160deg motor though should he gear his pinion down? ESC was 90deg. He was in profile 4. |

I know that I had contacted you yesterday and you should be getting a call today from someone in R&D about it.
Here is real customer service... From Venom Me: This is brand new charger just opened it today, set everything up and went to channel one to charge first battery works fine no issues, go to start charging on channel 2 all buttons work fine like an can scroll thru menu options like choosing what kind of battery im going to charge, so i select lipo but when i go to hit enter cant enter that option the light lights up on the enter button but nothing happens wont enter any selection i make... Please help me out have a race this saturday..... Venom: Hello, I am not sure what to make of this since the same buttons are used for channel one and channel 2. Unfortunately, we have discontinued this charger and I no longer have any in stock. The buttons on that charger are really sensitive and if you press too hard they will not work. All I can tell you is that you can send it in and we will see if we can repair it for you. Please send your full name, address, and telephone number. I will set up an RMA and email you the information. You can then send the charger in with a copy of your receipt and we will repair it for you if possible. If the charger cannot be repaired, please be aware that we no longer have these items in stock. We will not be able to replace it with the same charger. Venom's got your back! Me:So its pointless to even send it in.... if u can't fix it I still have a broken charger.... Venom:If we cannot repair it, we can replace it with a new charger, it just will not be a dual output charger. Me:What are my options on the chargers that will replace it, you have no other dual chargers Venom: Currently, we offer the Pro Charger and the Pro Plus Charger. I am attaching links to both chargers. Me: Hey Venom i have been corresponding with you regarding my issue with my Venom 2-10 dual charger, here is my other issue i really need a dual charger and would like to charge at 10amps and see the venom pro plus only does 7amps max, here is a solution i was thinking if possible i will send my venom 2-10 dual charger for warranty and if unable to fix you replace it with a venom pro plus is there also a way i can get my broken venom 2-10 duo if you are unable to fix it (so i can charge more than one battery at a time)if possible, was at the track on sat for a race and really was disappointed that i was not able to charge 2 batteries at the same time and being able to charge 2 batteries at once would really be perfect since all the classes i race are all electric and require me to charge so frequently.. Venom: Sunny, I'll tell you what. If you can send me a little video showing me that channel two does not work on your 2-10 charger. I will send you out a refurbished Pro Plus charger and I will not require you to send the 2-10 charger in. By refurbished I mean these are units that came in with box damage. They are basically brand new chargers and we give a full one year warranty with them the same as our brand new chargers. Being that they came in with box damage we cannot sell them as new so we offer them at a discounted price and sell them as refurbished. Let me know if this will work for you. Me: That's perfect ill send video after work (sent link after work) Venom: Sunny, Thank you for the video. I can definitely see that channel 2 is not working. I will go ahead and get a Pro Plus Charger on the way. Easy Breezy no fuss, I talked to your rep at viper and asked him since i purchased a new motor setup for my race last week cause your motor setup decided to un-glue it self (understand that there is issues with stuff like that, not mad at that since there is warranty) so i asked him if there is a way i can send you my motor set up back and replace it with one of your ESc's (Vtx10R) to use with my motor setup (novak ballistic 4.5) he said he would ask and call me back, but never called me back. Apparently customer satisfaction is not one of viper priority, thats what ticks me off... with all the warranty and non- warranty issues ive dealt with your company has to be the worst especially when it comes down to communication... All the company that i have dealt with is always willing to work with the customer...Ill even pay if i need to pay alittle extra (but seems unfair) anways thanks for the help, i sent my motor in for warranty and gonna return it for store credit with a-main since they charge a restocking fee if i do a cash refund (which Viper should pay).....Last Time I ever purchase a VIPER PRODUCT!!!!! |
SunnyB-
I am sorry your angry but I did call you back 30 minutes after our conversation . I was calling the main office to check and make sure we can do such a transaction. If I knew SunnyB was you on this forum would have just PM'd you. RMA's are taken care of in a different department that's why I had to check and make sure since I don't have the power to exchange products with one another. I was trying to help you to get a different esc so Viper equipment can satisfy your racing needs. If you still want to exchange it please let me know and I will take care of it.

Yep
I've had the same problem suunyb my vtx10 failed so i orders another combo and a extra motor. I installed the combo and it stopped working before i even got to run it. I called Monday they acted like that couldn't of happen to there product yet just at my local track we've had problems with three viper esc's and a motor in one weeks time. I was told i would receive a email regarding everything I needed to send it to them. Yet I still haven't got a email. And to think I was going to order a third combo for my 22. I don't want to have to worry if my electronics are going to work week after week then if they don't how hard is it going to be to get it fix. I'm very unhappy with viper at this point after spending close to 500 bucks on there products.

Warranty
I have had my first dealings with Viper Warranty since I got this system and I am 100% pleased with how things transpired. I had a motor and ESC go bad due to catastrophic failure for some unknown reason last Saturday at a Huge Event here in MI. Team Viper driver confirmed my problems at the track and talked with his team manager. They told me to fill out RMA online and send it back. I did fill out paperwork on Sunday. Mailed it Monday, Viper got it Wednesday. This being said, I could not race one of my three but it happens. I called made sure they got it. They confirmed they have it and give it a couple of days for them to go thru everything. I know I was being a pain in the butt with emails and phone calls. I apologize for that. I was such a pain that I had to sit back and think about what they go through on a daily basis. I am not their only customer and they need time to work through everything. I corresponded thru e-mail with Nick Malto and Eric K. both of these gentlemen were awesom to deal with. They have resolved my problem. My replacement warranty was shipped out Monday and I have the tracking number. It is due to be delivered today. Nick and Eric and everyone at Viper has earned my respect. They took care of the situation. I have had many dealings with companies over the years in my line of work to know how much of a pain it can be to deal with areas that they lose money in. Warranty would be one of those depts. That being said, I placed an order for another Viper system last night because of the quality of the product and the people I have dealt with that make me want to run their product.

VX4 Motor Exchange Program
In an attempt to be "Pro-Active" vs. being "Re-Active", Viper has setup an exchange program on the first run VX4 motors to insure that the best possible solution is available to the customer. Our goal is to ensure that all new VX4/VX4R production will meet the quality commitment and make sure that all customers will enjoy the product without worries.
It has been discovered that there is a problem with the attachment of the magnet to the rotor shaft, and the problem arose in the transition from R&D (motors built by the design engineers) to production (motors being built by production staff). It is a training issue where the magnet may be damaged during installation. Extensive testing and R&D was done on the development of the VX4 motors and the Copperhead Speed Controls to ensure the utmost reliability and performance from the system. And though the problem with the magnet on the rotor lies in a very small number of units when compared to the number of units that are working just fine, Viper is going to institute an exchange program to insure that the end user ends up with what they deserve. Steps have been taken to ensure there will not be any future problems with the use of a new fixture in the assembly process, and Viper is going to load and dyno every motor that comes off the line. The failure will come very early on if the magnet is damaged, and will show up in the first few moments once in use on the dyno. If you have a VX4 or VX4R motor and believe you are having a problem with it, please begin the exchange process by: 1. Please visit Viper RMA system on the web site and fill up your detailed information and press enter. Viper RMA Form 2. Contact Viper tech support at [email protected] with your RMA number and a copy of your original invoice (scanned image or detailed photo) for your Copperhead system. 3. You do not need to send back the motor. We will send you the replacement as soon as we verify your shipping address with original proof of purchase. 4. The Program will run until March 31st, 2012. Every qualified case will receive a brand new VX4 or VX4R motor as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Viper will send you a ProGauge with free of charge as compensation of this matter. Again, we sincerely apologize for this problem, and hope to get all customers back to the track with good products soon! More information can be found on the Viper Facebook page here |
kv rating
So I have a question for you genius motor gurus. How is it that our Viper 17.5 is a 1,900kv and the new Revtech says its a 3,000kv? why would those even be in the same class? I've seen rtr cars come with a 3300kv and those are way faster than any 17.5. So how is a revtech 17.5 even legal?
