Pro Gauge
If you save over a profile on the pro gauge, can you reset it back to factory later on?

Gearing help please.
Ok guys,
I have my 2wd sorted out. Runs great and stays cool. Thanks to all that helped out with settings. Now I need help with my 4wd. I run on an indoor carpet track. I am running a VTX10 ( A23 ) and a VST13.5 I run a Caster SK10. It has an 80T spur and a gear ratio of 2.437. I tried it in blinky mode with a 30T pinion. It performed ok, but temps were a little high ( high 165*+ ) I then tried in Profile 3 ( boost ) with a 25T pinion, again performance was ok, but temps were up there. Here is a vid of the current layout. http://www.youtube.com/user/tsan76#p/u/1/H7nhkOrGbM0 Any help would once again be greatly appreciated. Thank You |
yes, the notes of the set up are on the instruction sheet. Or if you ever update the software with the PC Link, it resets to default settings as well.

Yes I did our carpet track is about same size 90/40 we run shuie mini spikes 4wd we run 6.5 or 7.5 2wd most run 13.5 boosted just so it don't pull wheelies

Also I realized I had it on profile 1 with an 8.5, but changed the drag brake and stuff.
Would that cause any problems. |

Start at zero Accel Timing (A.T.) and zero Top Speed Timing (T.S.T) Can Timing - 30 Deg Power PWM Freq - 4000hz Mode - Race-Mod Start RPM 7000 Finish RPM 13000 Brake Linear Drag Brake 15% Brake PWM - 2000-4000hz Test 2 min, check temps. If temp is good, run to the 4 minute mark, check temps, if still good run to 6 minutes and check. Temps should be quite reasonable. If you need more in-field power, add A.T. - start at 4 deg, test temps in 2 min intervals. If you need more infield power, add another 4. Repeat testing. If you need more strait speed, add 2-4 deg of T.S.T. and test temps as above. Remember, the VTX esc will combine all of the timing together (both your AT and TST) I have seen several threads here referencing profile #3, and that is fine, but be aware that some of the profiles add allot of timing. For example, #3 is 30 Deg AT and 20 Deg TST, combined with a stock VST motor timing of 30 Deg, you are running a total of 80 DEGREES OF TIMING. This setup, irregardless of gearing will be sensitive to temps. When running boost, the theory is to gear down with the more boost you use. Because the lower gearing lets you have more punch, while the boost will let you get your top speed back due to the lower gearing. |
