The software is still in development from what I understand. They will send you a beta software via e-mail if you need to update the ESC firmware.

Hi guys,

Quick question.

When setting the battery cut off with the ProGauge, is the the number displayed per cell or total?

ie, if I want to set my cut off at 3.2v per cell. Would I set it to 3.2v or would it be 6.4v

I think you need to set it to the combined total ( 6.4v) but can't remember for sure.....

thanks

Raced my Vtx10 powered 22 for the first time on dirt today. Only my second time driving/racing a 1/10 2wd Mod buggy.

I placed BQ. B main only had one bump into the A so i needed a win. So none the less I had my typical first lap when i BQ which is lawn darting the first triple. Happens every time. After i was marshaled i was last so i put in a solid lap and starting picking of drivers. by the 2 minute mark i made the pass into the lead. Second place driver kept on pace for a few laps then fel behind and i was able almost lap the feild by race end to take the Bump into the A main.

The A main was stacked with alot of seasoned 1/10 buggy guys who race at the track often. so my goal was to just keep pace. I had some solid laps, staying 1/2 second off the fast laptimes. I ended up fifth in the A. I will take it for my first outing on dirt with my 22. I know were I need to pick up to run with the top guys.

The Vtx10 ran flawless all weekend. I ran the setup for 10.5 in a 22 buggy that was posted a few days back. Awesome power with amazing smoothness.

Looking forward to progressing with the 22 and viper.

The number is total volts...so your right 6.4v would be 3.2v and so on......... The number divided by 2 would equal your cut-off level for 2cell. I run mine on 6.6v and have never even hit the cut-off in a year with 3 rides.

Hey i got a used car with with a viper setup in it tonight and after i got looking at it the esc has Vtrax10 on the top instead of vtx10 like the one i already had, so my question is was this a earlier version or a diffrent esc all together.

nikos2002 11-20-2011 04:52 AM

msave- setups can be a pretty personal type thing. The profile will put you in the ballpark and then play from there. Biggest thing is this - is it fast for you, your driving style, and your current track conditions. There is no one magic silver bullet- its all little pieces if the bigger puzzle. BTW - your set up pretty similar to what I have run13.5 boosted before in 2wd.

PC Link software. Yes the full version of the program is not available yet, but we do have an engineering version that will allow you to apply any updates. Only software versions a19 and a23 are approved releases at this time. If you need the PC link software PM me with your email address. You must have the PC link cable to update the s/w

I think you guys have the cut off thing squared away.

Yes Vtrax and VTX10 are the same. The original product title had to be changed due to some possible copyright concerns.

Hope that helps get us all caught up. Viper Team had an awesome day at the NE Grand Prix at RCHR in CT yesterday. More info to come. Still recovering from the 18 hour day...... :o

I too have a Vtrax branded esc, but part of the beauty of how they designed the system is that is fully upgradable. With the PC link it can be updated to the newest version of firmware that the current production units have.

Hey everyone. I do not remember where I say it, but there is a paper/ online form that has a description of all the pro gauge setting changes. If someone knows the link or if it's in one of the manuals can you please let me know.

Also I came off a 7 minute main close to 200* last night. I have no boost or timing set, and the can timing is what it came from the factory with. I am running a Team C SC with 21/86 gearing on a medium/ large outdoor dirt track with medium traction. The motor has a very slight burnt smell to it now, but still runs strong. My friend was running his at 20/86 in the Team C SC as well, with no boost or timing, and it came off cool.
