i also need some esc setting for my viper i have a losi 22 with stock 17.5 turn do you have some set ups . gearing pro gauge set ups thanks

Went indoor racing last night with my viper powered caster buggy. Ran great. Viper motor was only 130 degress after the 8 minutes main.:)

Running a 10R with the 5.5 550 in my SC104X4 and I have had it set for speedo and motor protection, 220º and 180º respectively.

About 7 minutes into a pack, My speedo shuts down, but it is only 130º and the motor is 140º. The red light om the switch if flashing. I have to turn it off and back on and I am good for another minute or so.

I turned off all protection and same thing happened about 2 minutes into the qualifier. Motor was 125º and speedo was 110º

Any ideas?

Wanted to commend viper for excellent customer service and fast turnaround. I had an issue with my 10r and sent it up for repairs after receiving an rma from the website. Viper received my esc last Monday, had a great conversation with Raegan that afternoon and on Friday I had a new unit sitting in my mailbox when I got home from work. Definitely will be buying more Viper gear in the future. Thank you again!

what profile are you using on the esc? I had some similar issues when I first got my 10r and I run the 4.5 tekin in my sc104x4. Truck would shut down pretty quick after stating a run. Make sure you are running in stock mode and not mod mode and disable the motor temp protection since the tekin motor does not have a temp sensor onboard. Weylin tipped me off to this and since I made the changes it was running like a champ. Also take a look back thru the thread, Raegan has a pretty solid esc setup that I plugged into my 10r that was super smooth. Good luck.

I am running a Viper 550 and using the setup below. Disabeling protection shut it off sooner than using temp protection. It is running stock mode.

100% punch
linear curve
8000hz pwm
narrow deadband

10% drag brake
5% dynamic, 11,000rpm

race stock mode
6v bec

85-100% brake strength
linear brake curve
8000hz brake pwm

This was the setup provided by a friend through Weylin.

Sorry...i must have read your post wrong. Thought you said you had a tekin motor. I was running that same setup in the esc when I first got it, seemed to run fine? My temps were good. What gearing are you running

I went racing out door today. Qual'ed 2nd in e-truggy."Viper 2200kv" Finished 1st when i pulled off, qual'ed 3rd in buggy"2050kv" and was running 1st for awhile. You can see in the video I was beating Josh Pease until the 3:20 mark and then at the 3:30 mark i get hit by 3rd place driver and then i ran in 3rd until my battery unplugged. :( Viper motors ran great as you will see in the video

13t pinion, stock spur.

should I be okay with just the vtx10? or did I screw up on not buying the 10r?

VST4.5XL-14tooth pinion. VTX10R-Profile#2, Brake strength 80%, Brake PWM freq 8000HZ, Brake curve linear, Neutral drag brake 10%, Throttle PWM freq 9600Hz, Throttle punch 15%-20%, Throttle curve linear, Deadband middle, no timing- default, no motor protection, esc protection 240 degrees. (esc temp 120-140)-(motor temp 150-170)

For a mod setup you need the 10r. 10 is for stock 2 wheel applications.
