I would say if I am understanding what you have right (4x4 sct?) give a 6500mah or better 60C or greater battery a look.

promatch right now has some nice selection of lipos, ranging from 6 month to 1 year warranty length.

SMC also has nice lipos, just no warranty in the traditional sense, but cheaper price I am assuming because of it.

Thanks Cain, yes it would be for 4x4...... I'll check those out that you mentioned. I haven't ever had a high C rating battery, up to 40C is what I have now and seems to do well with this combo. Just really curious how a very high C rating might do..... Been eyeballing the Trakpower 90 C 2s Lipos.

These?

I ran the IP from Promatch equivalents and loved them. with the way a lot of companies appear to get batteries from the same places, wouldn't be surprised how similar the performance is.

I ran the 7200mah version of these:

Excellent batteries.

Yes, that is one I've looked at and considered. Money is an issue and I do like your suggestion. I've not tried any of their batteries before. Looks like a real value !

Cain 01-26-2015 11:45 AM

these could also be a good option for you and have a 1 year warranty from what Jeff from promatch told me when I asked about them.

I am just spoiled by bullets but if that doesn't matter to you, could be a nice thing to go with.

That's some good info Cain. Prices are nice on those promatch and ip packs also. When my T5 comes in I'll give them a try.

ProMatch is as good as it gets for batteries. Fantastic customer service, reasonable prices and they come with marked IR for each cell. I have had only 1 of their batteries fail in 3 seasons of running their packs (3-4 vehicles every week), and it was my own fault for not paying attention to my run time on a 4x4 SCT. You won't be disappointed.

Yep, went ahead and ordered the 2s 6500 mah 70C Lipo. Thanks again for the input, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes ! :D

Cain 01-27-2015 10:20 AM

good stuff, looking forward to hearing how it goes for you!

Getting back to some Viper talk -chucko, just check when you plug in you program card what software you have. We have been shipping esc's with a64 for over a year.

Looking for input here..... Running the Viper VXR45 combo in my Slash 4x4 at an indoors clay high bite surface. Small technical track with a little back straight. What would be a good starting profile to work with? Punch setting?
I've got the Progauge and want to use it to dial it in really well. Thanks.

Love my viper had it detect a electrical short and shut down on me last week replaced sensor wire ran a 5 minute heat fine then died in the main. Had a small cut in the power wire I did not see thanks for the great product probably saved me from smoking the esc and shorting a lipo.

Great question -- there isn't a perfect set up, unless you fine tune it for yourself -- If your racing start with Profile 5, run the truck, see what temps your getting, and what you need more of - power or speed. If you need little more bottom end power, Raise Punch slightly - lower Motor Timing slightly. If you need more speed on straight, Raise Motor Timing slightly - lower Punch Slightly. But keep an eye on your temperatures (motor and speed control) to make sure your not running too hot.
