Nice run rick! I hate when i am so close to another lap like that but it is just something to work for next time!
Running blinky 17.5 system in my sc10. timing is all the way geared 75,25. Runs super cool. Ganna bump up the pinion to 27. It is very fast to. Love this viper setup right now

Rick, here is the set up listed in the set up guide from the Viper forum:
Throttle punch settings for 4wd Short Course Applications
When using the VTX10R speed control with sensored 550 motors, we recommend a setting of 30% on your throttle punch settings in 4wd SC applications.
We recommend these VTX10R settings when running 4wd SC with the VST XL 4.5 or 5.5 motors.
VTX10R-Profile #2
Brake strength: 80%
Brake PWM freq: 8000Hz
Brake curve: linear
Neutral Drag brake: 0-10%
Throttle PWM freq: 9600Hz
Throttle punch: 20%-30%
Throttle curve: Linear
Deadband: Middle
No timing: default
No motor protection
ESC protection: 240 degrees
Note* ESC Protection takes a heat reading from inside the speed control where a normal heat gun can’t take an accurate core reading.

You guys are all on the mark - the VTX1 has a booster for 1s use and can be used in 2s down to 6.5 motors.

I put the A30 firmware on my ESC this past weekend. Much smoother coming off neutral and I also had more top end than I did previously. In general the 2wd Mod buggy was just easier to drive all around. I also had to dial back my drag brake % from what I was previously running. MY ESC also was running cooler. Great job. I was going to buy a R10 to replace my Viper unit but now I don't think it's necessary.
I played around with the smart brake. On the particular track I was on, not much brake was needed but I could see that being a nice feature to have at some track I've been too in the past.

Well i was at races last night, and i made a costly mistake. I got in a hurry and reversed the polarity, and now my esc wont power up. So do i need to send it in to viper to have it fixed? Or should i just buy another esc? It would cost me 155$ from A main for another VTX 10, does anyone know how much Viper would cost me to repair it? I cant believe i did this, im sooo stupid!

Yes program to 100 even if the radio goes higher..I made that mistake at first and full throttle was basically half throttle with the epa Maxed at 150 on a m11

Start by turning it down to like 75% and adjust from there. Some people like it lower, some higher - I think it depends how hard you like to hit the throttle and what your "feel" for it is. I know drivers that leave it at 100% even on slick tracks because they have the ability to control the wheelspin.

I am so happy with my viper stuff. After an ititial mix up on my settings the thing runs flawless. My motor has plenty of power and comes off the track at 130 or less. I don't need to gear up more cuz our track is only 65x45. It is amazing stuff and I can't wait to get more.

Has anyone tried the 8.5 VST with the high rpm rotor. I am racing 2wd buggy on a large track and am looking for a little more top end. I have also heard that these motors run better with a little timing..is that correct?
Thanks
