Default Savox Brown Outs

Anyone having trouble with the Savox servos check the end point settings on your truck or buggy. I had major issues when I put a Savox servo in my slash with stock electronics. Took a while to figure out what was going on and how to fix it but it turned out to be the end points. I reprogrammed my controller and have not had a single issue since.

I ordered new Viper electronics while trouble shooting my problems too. They will go in when the new system is released but I can still race with stock traxxas electronics and the Savox servo while I wait at least.

Thanks for the tip RC - you know one thing I have found out this year that with all the different radio/servo companies there there are - there is no industry standard for the settings, and functions on the equipment. As the equipment all becomes more sophisticated all these differences are starting to become apparently. As an example, if you have a Progauge, try the PPM test in your radio and a friends and see the differences, its really interesting.

I am looking to purchase

Viper R/C VTX10 ESC & VST17.5 Brushless Motor Combo w/ProGauge (17.5T)

Does it come with a sensor cable and motor/battery wires?

Yes and yes. The motor and battery wires come pre-tinned also. All you need is some extra solder to tin the posts and your choice of connector.

Default PC Link

Hi guys,

I just finished wiring up a new VTX10 / 8.5 combo into my friends 22

it came with A19 so I said I would flash it for him seeing as I did mine from A16 to A23 not that long ago. I saw that A30 was out so I planned on doing his and doing both of mine as well.

Well, I can't get it to see the ESC. I'm not getting any USB options in the drop down. Only COM1 and COM3.

I had a bit of trouble last time as well and figured out I didn't push the two halves of the PC Link cable together. That's not the case this time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default Gearing my xxx-sct...running a 17.5 viper w/ Novak GTB2 esc...advice?

Hey guys,

I need some advice...Im new to the hobby and have a viper 17.5 running through a Novak GTB2.

I want to get a good gearing set-up on my truck for an indoor clay track. Right now I'm running a 27/84 but the combo lacks the punch i need to get over the humps. It seems to do well on the straightaway but the punch is kinda blah.

Since I'm on a wife-induced, fixed budget i'd like to keep my current motor / esc combo. Eventually I want to get the VTX10 but for now I'm stuck with what I have. The Novak GTB2 doesnt have timing adjustment just an adjustable throttle curve and driving frequency.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

~John

Do you thi I would have problems running a Tekin Pro 4 4000 through the VTX10R without a fan? Heat issues on the speed control?

If you are using a Laptop, make sure you have it plugged into a 5v powered USB port. I have 2 ports on my laptop that are powered, and 2 that are not

The VTX10 and VTX10R are 1/10th scale speed controls and were designed around everything available in the market at the time, which pre-dates the 1/10th 4-Pole motors.

The Tekin 4-Pole is a scaled down 1/8 scale motor, and it may work, but it is not suggested. I believe that Tekin recommends using the RX8 (their 1/8th scale ESC, not the RS or RS-PRO which are their 1/10th ESCs), so I would contact them and see what they recommend.

It is a desk top comp.

I am using the same front facing USB port I did last time. I have two front facing and one open USB port on the back. I have tried them all.

Same thing. No USB selection in the drop down. Only COM1 and COM3.
