Default Viper Motors

Hey Guys sorry to change the topic (if there was one)

I need an honest opinion on viper 540 motors. . .

I have been running ballistic motors for some time now, but recently have been running mod dirt oval and haven't been too happy with the low turn ballistic motors (they heat fade very badly among other things)

Do the viper motors run cool and all the other good stuff, especially in uber mod? (looking at getting a 3.5)

ive been pretty impressed with viper since their release, so i want to run these motors if they will work for my application

Sorry for the long post. . . .
Thanks!

im not to sure i can comment on this but i am going to try

Yes when geared right our motors run super cool and produce a BUNCH of torque, a 3.5 in an offroad (dirt oval) car

thats a super mod motor lol and typicaly ran in onroad super long tracks maybe try a 6.5 and boosting a bit. thats what the tekin guys are going to for onroad this year a boosted 6.5 setup local Derek S. from tekin is super fast with his.

cool thanks for the info! i may go for a 4.5 instead. . . . . . I'm at a 5.5 right now that' s geared to the moon. I want a motor that hotter than that so i can gear it pretty casually and not have to worry about heat. . . . . and boost is not an option, because im using an RX8 plus 1/10 lmodels are slightly heavier than an onroad car, so I can't gear quite as tall

No, we will have VTX8 to handle 1/8 scale motors properly.

Our VTX10R will handle 550 motors in a Losi 4x4 SC - see Ryan's posts earlier in the thread. I know some guys tried the 10R with lower KV 1/8 motors and it worked. But 2650 is getting up there - wait for the VTX8 as srv suggested.

OWTKAST cpt - on the VTX's series you can adjust the motor punch, throttle curve, throttle frequency - or any combination of the three, to help control how much power you are putting down and still get a good results at the end of the straight.

Anyone offering a pre-order on the vst 4.5xl yet? Saw they were expected mid June. I blew out a rotor on my Team Orange in the Ofna so I am in the market for a 550.

I've run my vtx10r in my sc10 4x4 a few races now and it's awesome. My question is after a race I seem to have a goo that seeps out of the speedo and the switch, is this normal? They don't get that hot. After a 10min race the motor is is 145 and speedo is 130 externally.

Sounds like epoxy or that electrical joint jelly. Definitely not normal

I would contact Mini-Dub and see if he has any idea

Thanks, I sent him a pm. I love the speedo, my temps are normal and it is one of the smoothest speedos I've used. I hope I don't have to send it in. I have a huge race this weekend and I don't want it to fail on me. It's been great so far.
