Hope I can explain this right.
Im running 2wd 17.5 buggy outdoors.
I need the "SPEED and oomph" but MAN does the timing hit hard. I have adjusted the RPM range but it just hits soo hard it breaks the back end loose.
Any idea on what to adjust to get a nice smooth power output?
Also on the "speed" setting with the degree/1000 rpm what exactly does that affect?
Thanks
Chase

Sounds like you need to put the power down smoothly...honestly, the best way to do this is with a smooth trigger finger, especially in 2wd.
The ESC can make life easier. Try each one of these suggestions one at a time and go in small increments. Try one change, run some laps and reset it to where it was. Then do the same for the others. Check temps often.
1. Raise the PWM frequency ( check temps, higher values can raise temps)
2. Lower the throttle punch
3. Raise your Acceleration Timing
4. Lower your Slew rate. ( as mentioned before)
Try these and post back. Finding a the sweet spot and figuring out how everything works takes time, especially with the amount of adjustments the VTX10's offer. It's all worth it in the end.

After reading you posts, my first question would be....are you running the optimum tires for the track conditions?? If you are not sure, ask some of the fast guys what they are running. Look at your overall set up as well. If that's not the problem, try this.

I am the fast guy? lol Nah here on the local level it is me and 2-3 others fighting for top dog. We all run the same tires after some experimenting.
I got the viper to try instead of my Tekin for craps and giggles. My slew is 1*/1000 right not. I lowered my acceleration timing cause at about 1/4 trigger pull its a VERY abrupt "hit".
I will play with the punch and pwm.
I just want it to not "hit" like a darn 500cc 2 stroke dirt bike =)
I am not complaining, just wanting to get the most out of it.
Viper motor with duo 3 17.5 win last weekend =)

Question for Viper RC
In the bigger ESC industry ( Ebikes, Esooters, ECars) we use Regenerative braking... Why dont you guys stand out of the pack and offer such thing?
it would be awesome regen braking for burst accelaration out of corners (4wd) would be crazy!
Looking fo ryour feedback
