Let me know if you need more help with the math. I just need to know what size spur gear you have.

Craig

I've got 84, 86, & 88 spurs available at the moment...Is it better to go smaller or larger with the spur? I'm a bit muddy on this at the moment :\

Ok, I'm not having the best of luck with my VTX R. I was planning to use the esc for the first time today at the track, so I wired, soldered everything up, calibrated and used the pro gauge to make some fine adjustments. Everything worked fine. While on a car stand, I tested forward, brake ,etc to make sure everything is working, then after about 5-10 sec the whole esc just shut down.

I tried different batteries, still not working. I hooked up my old MMP to my receiver and that works perfectly. So I ruled out batteries, receiver, and radio. I even soldered new battery plugs and still the switch won't turn on.

Do I have a bad switch or did the esc just take a dump on me?

I guess no track day for me.

Sweet, I was a little disappointed when I found out it wouldn't fit. So I was gonna run my ballistic 4.5 550 with my viper. I got my sc10 4x4 today and you tell us this. Man this is an awesome day.

I am sure weylin is on top of it! and i am sure this driver has relayed the info into him.

if not he will find it here and we will get it squared away.

maybe make revision allowing the 550 can to fit! who knows! we will see!
right now only the tekin and novak 550 cans fit that we are awear of.. it is a new truck so maybe we have to break out the dremel!

Guys, please note that any Viper 550 motors out in the world right now are pre-production samples, and there are a few differences between them. So we can't make any absolute statements on what vehicles they will or will not fit. As we go to production we want to make sure they fit in every possible vehicle, especially one that is going to be as popular at the SC10 4x4.

I tested my vtx10 with a tekin 17.5 today and it was noticeably faster than with the viper 17.5. So I am thinking I got a dud motor. How should I go about replacing that?? Only problem with the tekin though; I kept thermaling the motor. Esc temp protection set at 220*, the can was reading 150*, and it was only 80* outside, I'm scared what will happen when it is 100*. Is there really that much difference between the inside of the motor and the outside?? And what would be the max I should set the cutoff for to ensure the motor doesn't cook??

do you have timing advanced on the tekin? maybe thats why it was faster and got way hot. just a thought, not trying to be an a hole
