I am just now getting back into the hobby. I just purchased a dex 410r and I am considering getting a vtx 10 with an 8.5. Will this be suitable for 4wd, or would I be better off getting a vtx10r for a little more durability.
Thanks,
Beau

Yes, it's under the 'throttle' menu, labeled PMW Frequency, I believe. Not 100% on it but I also believe PMW stands for pulse width modulation. I just started playing around with this setting last weekend and it makes a huge difference in stock non-boosted. Not only did it make the throttle even smoother than it was already - it seemed to give the car a little more top end. It's nice with mod motors as well, making it easier to find traction.
Quick question - What kind of esc temps are reasonable? I threw a 8.5 viper motor in my b4.1, geared 22/78 (extremely tight indoor track), 20* mechanical timing, mod offroad no boost profile, PMW frequency 9600. Can't remember what the brake frequency was.
The gearing seemed pretty close, it'd come off around 135 after 5 minutes and 150 after a full 5000mah pack. The esc temp was higher than I'd ever seen though (likely from messing with the PMW frequency!), but it topped out at 140. Is that within limits? Am I under/over-geared?
Also big thanks to Raegan for his help earlier this week

The VTX10R has been good with my DEX410 so far, and am wondering if i should get one for my Losi 22 as well, though since am never gonna run anything more aggressive than a 6.5t in my Losi, am thinking on the VTX10(not the R) mostly because it's a few mm lower than the VTX10R which means i should go along nicely on the ESC spot on a mid motor 22.
So would the VTX10 work on the 22 as long as i am not gonna go below 6.5t?(Probably gonna run 8.5/7.5t).
