NOVAROSSI Engine thread....

I know the .21 novarossi engines are mostly shimed at .80 and I've read after breakin you can take out a .10. With the .28 Plus 28-7T engine it is shimmed at .60, as once once the breakin is completed is it best to leave it shimmed at .60 or are people also taking out a .10? I'm running it in Late Model oval racing.
I might run one of our X28 engines and experiment so I know, just not much practical use of .28 engines in offroad

thanks for the reply, as we don't run many .28 in offroad around here either, but the 1/8 Dirt Late Model is where the guys are running the .25-.28's. I'll send Mark a PM.

21-4BTT with 2084 and 41021 header and Nova #6 plug.
My symptom is when I come into the pits once the engine is fully heated (I use a competition heater before it's started also) or after the run the engine will drop to a nice idle instantly and then after 3-4 sec revs back up. After 8-10 sec of being reved up at a the higher idle it idles back down.
I would assume this isn't normal and it's not an issue I'm familiar with. Any suggestions? Thanks.

next stepup in power while maintaining great mileage is the 2084ss , some people like the 9853ss for buggy but i feel it is just too much low end punch causing undesireable wheelspin.
differences
9901ss - smooth low end , great midrange , good top , exceptional mileage
2084ss - great low end , great midrange , good top , great mileage
9853ss - GREAT low end , GREAT midrange , great top , good mileage
2096ss - GREAT lowend , great midrange , GREAT top , great mileage

I have a Bonito in a RC8T and I am looking at different pipes. I have been running a Axe Rossi 2050 and have just fitted a Go 2072 which I am going to try out the is weekend. What pipes have you tried or can recommend to try. I am looking for a mid/top combo as most of the tracks in the area have one or more long straights and flow fairly well.

When I posted this in the general offroad nitro engine forum before moving it to here the info above was not posted. Thats the kind of info I was looking for. I run around 5/6 tanks today with the Go pipe, mid and top were good but it was a bit soft on the bottom. I will be purchasing the 2084 before our local race meeting this weekend.

If it's not too much trouble, would you mind expanding this list to include headers too? There's the long, short, & compact smooth headers (41020/41021/41029), but also the long, med, & short L-shaped ones as well (41005/41001/41019).
It would be great to see a kind of "mix-n-match" chart.
Thanks in advance....
