K so I have a Nova engine thats a few years old and havent been run for that long so I wanted to see if I could get it running again.
The thing is its all clogged with residual fuel and junk so I have to take it apart and clean it. Cant get the sleeve out though, its jammed so hard in there and I have nothing to pull it out with. Ive tried heating the case with a heatgun but its not helping.
Anyone have any good ideas about what to do?

A thick zip tie through the exhaust port, and turn the crank will usually do the trick. The sleeve will pop up and you should be able to take it out.

Im beginning to suspect that it wont be possible to get this out without damaging it.

If it is still a bit stubborn I would recommend soaking in wd-40 ,and/or heat up the block a bit

either a strong old toothbrush with the bristle end cutoff our a plastic rod to push the sleeve up from the bottom is what I use to remove all sleeves, probably a few thousand

As I have already tried to heat it Im gonna try your other suggestion and let it soak in WD40 for a while.

But I got it out anyway!
Fabricated a small aluminium piece from an old steeringarm from an RC18B that fitted between the intake port and the exhaust port, but not long enough to hit the case. And then I just pressed it up with the piston.
I can tell you though, it was STUCK cause I had to really use force to get it up.

I use a zip tie and it works perfect every time. Get a large zip tie (put piston at BDC) and run it through the exhaust port and start turning the flywheel. Should pop up enough for you pull it out with your hands.
Works lie a charm!

As I said the engine has been sitting for years with fuel in it, so it was all clogged up inside.

YEA im surprised to hear these amateur ways of removing sleeve from so-called professionals, that jp tool is second to none, i have NEVER tried anything else, as the ways mentioned can only do damage, the jp tool, you just pop it in, and pull it out, it has rubber that expands in a sense and grabs on, so when you remove your not PUSHING with a toothbrush on the bottom of a sleeve, wich happens to be the weak part, and im sure the stubborn ones, it HAS to make them slightly out of round. pm me i can direct you where to buy for under 20$...
