NOVAROSSI Engine thread....

hey guys i have a bonito in my RC8T and was racing this past weekend. All through qualifying the motor seemed tuned perfectly and never lost any power and was very consistent. in the main event, it seemed to lose bottom end power about 15 minutes into the race. I am running a 7mm venturi and had 1 1.1 and 2 1.0 clutch springs. clutch springs were used on another race day as well. shoes were in good shape and i had just deburred them before the main. any ideas on what could have caused a loss in bottom end power late in the race? It came off the track temping at 260 and it was about 65-70 degrees out

Hey guys
What would be the Venturi to run with a long header and 9901 pipe
I'm running 30 percent nitro in mugen buggy
I've gone from a short header and 8.0 Venturi
To try a 6.5 Venturi and long header
But engine had no top end power and seems like its rich and chews fuel
I'm chasing a good combo with it

Hi.
on loosing Power after 15 minutes, Your lean. That is a classic scene i see evry year here. After aprox 12-15 minutes Your cahssis is up to temp and engine has gotten to the point that it starts going to hot and it will start flaming. I can not answer if you are lean on top or bottom end. My advice is to practice like you would drive a main and get a friend to fuel you up. Then after 10 minutes get in and listen to Your engine. If you Clear it out and it stais high on idle and og Down you are lean on top. if it ring a ping ping, and will not come Down on idle, Your are to lean on bottom end.
I always used 41021 and 9901. With 7mm venturie. I never go under 7mm as engines just gets difficult to tune.. I save more fuel With my throttlefinger tahn going Down on venturie size :-)

I recently switched to the Nova P5xlt. I have ran nearly every motor under the sun including Alpha, Werks, and OS. It is as good as any of them IMO. I gear up a tooth in my Tki3 and it's smooth and fast. Liked it enough, I have a second one waiting to be broken in.
