Tune differently as opposed to?

Thank you for the recomendations, I am thinking about the 21-4BTTS/WC with the dual Ceramic bearings, a 41029/2096 combo. Anyone on here running that? I am guessing a 6mm restrictor in the buggy will be golden.

On another note I did notice that on the long needle carb it seems like the balance point is more like 5 turns out rather than 4.25.... I am a rookie when it comes to tunning so take what ever I just said with a grain a salt or rather just a random comment. I really need to work on my tunning skills. Becuase girls like guys with Skills.

A question on my 4BTTS:
While re-assemblying the engine after normal dissambly for cleaning and inspection, I noticed alot of play in the rod/crank joint. I replaced the rod but there was still alot of play in the joint (especially noticable while a TDC). I suspect the crank is worn out.
My question is: could this happen from waiting too long to replace the rod?

Where can I get spare throttle linkage ballcups without buying the whole linkage setup. I have looked everywhere I can think of and just cant find it.

Man, I thought this would be an easy question but, you are right, I searched high and low on A-Main without coming up with anything other than a complete linkage kit.

Perhaps Houston will chime in with an answer.

Thanks for that offer but I would like to find a package of a few of them to have in the toolbox for spares. I am new to nitro and should really have asked this question first:
How loose does the ballcup need to be. I can easily pop the cup off with very little effort, is this okay. I haven't raced the car yet so I don't if it coming off will be a problem.

They usually fit pretty tight. I have to twist mine off. I can pop it off by pulling it with my fingers but it's tough and hard on the ball cup, so I twist em off. Sounds like yours may be wore out.

That is a possibility. Especially if the con rod was excessively worn.

Looking for recommendations for a setup for buggy. I'm an electric guy who knows nothing about Nitro. I'll have some veteran help to get me through when I need it.

What Motor / header / Pipe combo would be they way to go for me?

good header choice, I would say for the pipe get the 2096. Little smoother on the bottom end with better top end and better runtime. I'll send you a PM soon.

I looked up that pipe you suggested and it's recommended for Euro tracks. Low bite, high speed, flowing. Other than the low bite, not sure that applies :P

The 2096 has plenty of rip especially with the P5. I run a 2096 on my plus 4 btt and both Mel and Bill run the 2096 on the keep off 4. I felt the 9901 had to much bottom end not enough top for the plus 4. The 2096 is smooth enough on the bottom that it reduces wheel spin coming out of the corner to allow the buggy to hook up and launch hard. I can clear every jump at family no problem. Also the midrange is very smooth, just like the bottom end. Dont read smooth as lacking power...my buggy gets out of the hole very hard. Limited wheel spin means traction! If you want I'll let you wheel it a few laps during practice Saturday once I sort out a few of the set-up changes I did this week.
