I've always prefered slotted head screws over hex.

When I got my first RB S7 worlds engine I was like huh, what do i do. I went in my non rc toolbox and found an old hardned steel screwdriver and grinded off the sides near the top of the flat part and took a little off the tip and it fit perfectly. Still use it for all my engines and never has developed a scratch yet.

Yes I run one. It a great engine! VERY fast! I run it in my truggy. I've have about 3 races on it now. The first race was an indoor race for our regional pro series. I was able to pit at 10:30 without a problem. Now last weekend was an outdoor race on a track I was comfortable with so I was driving the truggy STRAPPED! lol. I was only able to go about 8:30 with it so I pitted at 7. But its a very good engine.

They are very fast, that's for sure. I ran the 6.5 venturi and was only getting 7.5 mins run time. I have about four liters through it ATM. Wonder if I'm to heavy on acceleration? What set up are you running. I have novarossi Roma .25, novarossi 2096SS/41021, two ali and two comp clutch shoes with green and gold springs and novarossi c6tgc plugs. I'm running it in a losi 8T 2.0 with 14/48 gearing. Still has plenty of punch and crackin top speed, but only 7.5 min run time. If I could get 10.5 I would be walking around track with a chubby all day.

Our track is all short runs, quite rough with all small jumps, med straight and never gets grooved up. Pretty loose and dusty. Any ideas on how I can get that extra 3 mins out of her?

have you put a race tune on it already? and have you been heating your engine? its going to be hard to get any extra 3mins?? but you may be able to get a few more seconds by possibly adding a cooler and maybe some more fuel line but to get the most time would be in the finger:nod:

Nearly at race tune. Would only be an hour or so to go. Always heat all my engines to about 100 before starting them. I'm really not sure how the other guy is getting 10.5 out of his .25. Might have three meters of fuel line for all I know.

c5tgc ,7.5mm ,9853ss/41021 in st-rr i was gettin easily 10min , i wasnt being too gentle but still a lil rich , 245 with a regular head (for comparison purposes)

A friend uses a snap on carb screw driver for the flat heads. Suppose to fit real nice. I havn't had a chance to try it. I always use my Flat Head Robbe I've had for so long. I have a few other of there tools and they have been amazing. Unfortunately they don't make them any more.

Plus 4btt

Hey all,

Just a quickie really,

Running a nova plus 4 btt in a MP9, using a 9901 pipe and 41021 header with a c6tg plug jvd clutch and 13t bell.

My endpoints are set and the carb doesnt fully open 6.5m venturi running 25% fuel.

Now my query, I have the idle gap set a 0.6m so thats good.

At the weekend is was hot and my engine wouldn't settle nicely on a idle no matter what i did went rich LSN then Leaner LSN no change richened out the top and repeated etc...

It ran but wasn't purring, also after 7.5mins i was on vapour! Now the engine is around 22 tanks old now. Always preheat before starting too.

I tried the base settings that i got off here and that was way too lean was running on just on the box so just some points to clarify -

Base settings for the engine?

what sort of tune are people putting on these I'm not an expert at tuning but I've got a rough idea which is why sunday was so strange?

my HSN is 3.75 out

LSN is 5 1/2 out..

LOL...I was going to ask the same thing....

Lille-bror 05-29-2012 01:41 PM

Needle settings?! I've 4 Nova carbs and on none of them the needles are in the same position. Some out of flush and some in on flush on both LSN and HSN. All carbs are from Plus4 and Plus4 Team engines

Has anyone found their BTTs running well over 300 deg? my engine wont run rt unless its around 310 deg.. its puffs out a bunch of smoke on the initial throttle pull and then i still seem smoke as its running down the straight. but yet if i lean out the bottom it runs on and if I richen it on the hsn no more then an hr or 2 it sounds like its drowning in fuel..

i use the 6.5 insert and power masters fuel in a serpent. is this fuel any good?
