Hey Monty!

I just heard you're going to be attending one of ( if not the biggest ) 1/8 races in Canada in April.

Look forward to meeting you.

Hi Houston,
Got a few questions regarding engine hopefully you can answer.
I have a novarossi bonito and have it stripped but want to know when is it considered necessary for a repinch of the sleeve? I have about 3.4mm clearance from the top of the piston to the summit of the sleeve when the piston is pushed into the sleeve.
Also the bearings.... What are the tell tale signs you need to change the front and/or rear bearings? I don't want to take them out of the crankcase for them to be ok so is there anything I should be looking for while they are still in the crankcase that would flag they are worn out?

If when room temperature the piston when lined up in its proper orientation as it would run in block provides no resistance up to the combustion area (thin dirty line in sleeve) then resize is in order

If there is resistance for a bit before that line then you are good ,but the real test is when it is all together and checking compression/leakdown with light oil
