I agree with Monty. The factory may have built it wrong . Sometimes things get lose during break in.

Default 2096 pipe question

Monty,
All things being equal and keeping the same header(41021) what can I expect from needle settings should I switch from 9901 to 2096 Novarossi pipe?
from what I’ve researched it looks as though HSN would need to be leaned but wanted to get your advice/input. Motor is Novarossi Factory tuned 4port “Buggy” .Thanks man

lsn is usually a touch leaner and hsn is kinda weird to tune with 2096 as it has a sort of "sweet spot" where everything jives ..... i leaned on my stuff one day to see max and i went 9hrs before i noticed starving for fuel (lean bogging) occured ...... runtime went through the roof ..... i went back to close to where i was as fuel makes power and not air ..... lol

if engine heats up too much it starts to lean bog .... might be good for quals but not so good for main tune ....lol

9901 is pretty safe and easy to tune and no matter how much i leaned it never really gains high speed runout as pipe is fairly restrictive when the exhaust flow reaches a certain point .....

9853 is the most power .... still to this day ...lol
