does this work with .12 motors as well?? i have a STS .12 3 port, 3 needle, rear exhaust motor that im having issues with, its bogging on the bottom but the fuel line pinch test is about 4 seconds and it smokes quite a bit on the top when it finally opens up and the temp never gets over 210.. im running the motor in a ntc3 on a dirt oval so i need the bottom to be crisp and i just cant get there.. what would it be

.12 engines are not quite as susceptible to tuning changes as dramatically as big block nitro where more fuel is being pushed through the engine .

but yes it works for many nitro fuel burning engines

try running the temps up a little or using 30% , i always used the same fuel in my 10th scale and my 8th scale

Hi there Monty

for those of us running 25% (for runtime purposes) on our +4 does it mean we should remove some head shims (the copper one?) from stock?

Thanks,
Paul

ok, im running 30%, i tried to lean it out a bit to get the temp up a little more but when i did the motor wound up and stayed that way for about 3 seconds and it was still bogging on the bottom, theres a ton of pinch left theres, no air leak, sealed everything... im going to bring it out to the track this after noon and see if its different on the track than in the road.. i am running it on a clay dirt oval.

not necessarily

most users wont really notice that much difference between 25% and 30% for the most part anyway .

the engine should burn a little cleaner with 25% and factory shimming ;)

biggest tip : fuel makes the power , not the air ;)

I notice the change in both runtime and dollar bills... the additional wheelspin I couldn't care less  I've heard quite a few world-class racers say they stick to 25% as the extra boost from the 30% is pointless. There's a reason why onroad is limited to 25% and offroad is unlimited... and a few years back a guy won the euros running 16%.... the others sure were pissed :D

ok - will leave the shimming as is then.

Thanks!
Paul
