P5 shims

I took the head off my p5 and it had 2 thick alluminum shims and one thin brass shim, that seems like a lot of shims. I took out the brass one to lower it a bit, is that ok. Any advice.....

Monty, when using the button for the turbo plug, do I leave the brass shim that is used with the regular button? This motor is a +4, and is brand new. I will be breaking it in this weekend as you have described. Thanks.

Rich

HeyCade!!!

What did you guys think of the engine ?

It's a totaly different motor, feels strong but is still smooth from bottom to top. Didn't time a run on it yet but after a 7 minute heat race there was
quite a bit of fuel left.

Still running the OS 2060 on it, but want try something else too. Running a Dyn 053 on the +4 in the buggy and liking it.

We need a few more of those pimping stickers

Why?

Are you running 20% ?

A p5 running 30% fuel should have .80mm worth of shimming , the aluminum ones are .30mm and if you actually had a brass shim it was .15mm , there are two sizes of copper .10mm and .20mm . Remember .80mm total , after you feel a little compression loss it is ok to remove one to go from .80mm to .70mm to raise compression to get you by but I would suggest either a new p/s set or having the best in the business perform a recondition/resize on your p/s set , [email protected]

Should be a total of .80mm

What pipe?

You might have to market that new "Especiale" line, lol.

The black and white ones, need some for the bodies. I have the two on the end of the air filter cover.

Thanks

Jon
