I was running Byrons fuel in both motors. Not sure what caused them to go. I have been having problems with the Plus 4 running hot and not making much power for about a half gallon. the Toro started the same thing about 3 tanks ago. I talked to Jim at Fusion Motorsports and he said to put a small shim behind the flywheel so it does not possibly rub on the bearing. I am sure its something I have done, just don't know what. I ran on road back in the 90s and never had any of these problems not doing anything different. Owell

Thanks

yes i have bearings in stock for both engines and charge 55$ each engine for front and rear ( tko ceramics ) including installation . pretty odd that you might have blown the front bearings on these new nova engines as they have two shields on the outboard side of the balls ( i said balls:lol: ) . these bearings have been lasting a llloooonnnnggggg time , seriously . they are hands down the best on the market , ask anybody , they are not cheap is the problem . every engine on the planet is gonna leak when performing that test , i will just about guarantee it . i do not hold that test to have any real validity when it comes to deciphering whether or not it is time to replace front engine bearing . ;)

Yeah, I came up with that test more for carb, block leaks. How can we tell if the bearings are bad? Other than a pool of fuel in front of the engine.

Is it a simple wiggle/play test?

the front bearing doesn't necessarilly make 100% of the seal in your engines crankcase . there is a reason that there are grooves in the block and on the crank towards the front bearing carrier area ;) alot of times the crank gets worn from dirt getting sucked into the engine and lets alot of crankcase pressure get to the front bearing area . the new nova bearings help combat this issue immensely but does not always cure it . seriously , if your front bearing leaks profusely then you should change it , yes it really is that simple guys . personally i have not found a minorly leaking front engine bearing to cause huge tuning problems as much as tank/pipe pressure and leaking carbs (mostly on other makes) .

You must know a good motor guy that dialed your gear and got it off the line pretty good huh. LOL:lol: :)

Again great job!

Looks like there is more than one person that runs kyosho out your way! On the east coast in WNY that is not the case, I am mostly on my own with the exception of a team driver that runs 10th electric, he has helped me alot with my car. Pretty much Losi, Mugen and HB out here. Nice to see more than one K car at a race.

I have been traveling on business a lot. I was in Rockford Illinois last week and will be in Toronto next week. I get to visit a lot of cool RC Stores when I am away. I got a 1/16th mini E-revo to bash around with. Don't worry I haven't converted to electric. I still prefer Nitro. I haven't driven my 8ight since the season ended at Rise. Nick and I will probably do some racing at the newly resurrected indoor track at A-main on McLaughlin blvd. this winter with our Traxxas. When do you go racing at the Nitro Pit? Looks like you had a hell of a good year! I will make it a point to stop by and shoot the shit sometime.
