From what i have read I cant go to wrong with this engine and I can hammer the donk all day, cause she will love it
. Also keep up the great thread. Its good to read a thread with no ego or negativity towards other opinions, just great advice. Keep up the work and i look forward to some more great advice in the future

no need for all that sheeit ya know p5xlt and X7 are my two fav truggy engines by far at this point m favoring the X7 as i like big power in the truck

P5XLTFM with 2096ss/41021 buggy and/or truck or X3LFM 2096ss/41021
X7FM with 9901ss/41021 for truck
those are the combos stevolicious , btw love the rctech name

Honestly bro , your best bet would be to go to a nitro 8th scale offroad race , hang out lay low , race in the beginner class if the facility has one otherwise just race whatever , dont expect much , watch all the experienced guys , not necessarily "the fast guys" but the guys who are just regular racers who u can tell have their sh!t together , dont be a nuisance but dont be afraid to ask for a little guidance
It will help you immensely

Quick question, whats the ideal idle air gap measurement for the Novacarbs? I think its .6mm but not 100% sure. I'm pretty close on my idle setting, but if i pick the car up or while it on the box, while engine is running, the clutch engages enough to spin the tires, but not enough to move on the ground. There is room for improvement but I don't want to have a unstable idle do to being to lean. It will idle at a constant rpm but after 15 to 20 seconds it loads up bad and has a hard time clearing out. Thinking lean the LSN 1 to 2 hours and drop the idle gap to bring it back down. Motor has HES tunes and break in service and 1875cc through it, but hasn't dropped its nuts yet. am I being to picky?

I actually heard it spinning, sounded like a .22 ricochet.

Ok so I managed to blow 2 sets of front tires off the rims last race with the HT p5..
the 3rd set was preglued AKA's for the main and even those had small issues after that...
I thought it might be the center diff and it was pretty light after about 3 race days. It was 7,000. I don't really do anything unless it's total rebuild, but I had to make an exception..So you might wanna run thicker center diff oil or change it pretty often if you run a Houston Tuned engine.
The announcer said during the race, man Mad Dog's engine sounds just mean....I was grinning pretty big...

di dyou have an engine that was controllable yet had enough power for all the features on the track? that is what matters Merdith , theres only one straight away on any given track for the most part but there are many jumps, bumps and corners to get through
