Hey guys,
Just wondering if someone could help me out with some info on the 3port steel bearing version engine. Noticed that it didnt come with a carb restrictor, can you fit one in the carb? Also, what plugs are most running in it? Mc8's Mc9's? The stock pipe bent on me right at the exhaust end, so i may need to change it out, any recc's? thanks, tenpins |
im pretty sure the steel bearing 3 port motors come with a silver 7mm restricter as far as plugs odonnel 97t gets good mileage with the 3 port
or the orion 5# or 6# plugs are excellent and pipes ive only run 2013 - 2066 orion the 2013 is the best pipe for the motor and the 2066 is a bit poor i think as far as mileage and performance goes but if your in the euro region 2013 is illegal for sanctioned racing bit of a shame since its updated now but not too the point too where its legal:flaming: hope this helps dude |
OS #3 is not the best way to get best fuel millage on Orion motors?
|
Don't worry about the restictor. And no the 200 dollar motor does not come with any. Throw the carb away and use a different one. The carb that comes on it sucks azz. And keep an eye on the bearings. If all goes well, the motor isn't to bad. Although for 200 bucks there are other motors I would buy. If only I had it to do over! LOL

Just started breaking in my Orion MTE 5 port, How many tanks before I can start leaning it out to race tune and start using 100% throttle? I have 9 tanks so far.

youve already done way more than i did.

Where can I find support for these motors? Any one know the sizes of the rear bearing on the 3 port? Need to be sure.

what the best orion motor for truggy?
|
Go back and read Pit Pops posts. He is the man when it comes to what the Team drivers run. I believe they use both, the 7 port and the 3 port for truck. But they use the 3 port a little more. 3 port is killer bottom and good runtime, and the 7 port is just a Hoss!

I am currently running the 7-Port CRF/ABI and it is OMG Power, and I am loving the mileage. Running it with the AE Black Coated Header and Pipe (I think 2035?) and couldn't be happier with it. Run time has been up to 10 min in my Truggy

hey guys,
just to tell you some issues with my Orion... This week end i had 3x runaway (bind problem with my receiver, after i loose the signal, the trottle servo move to fail safe position 25% carb open(i made a mistake when i set the failsafe position lol)) and the engine is in healthly without any issue!!! No bad sign on the con rod or crankshaft... Very strong motor Orion are:nod: |
Was curios if anyone has run the 7-port with a AE 2035 or AE 2039 pipe?
|

Front bearing: 7x19x6mm | Rear Bearing: 14.2x25.3x6.3mm Ceramic 7 port CRF is the same, not sure on the Alpha line of engines.. |
Congratulations Team Orion on dual National Titles at the ROAR Off-Road Fuel Nationals. All the Team Orion engines were very solid, and from what I saw, gave the most power and reliability in the tough high altitude conditions. This would have to make any die hard fan boy a believer, right? The Adrien Bertien designed engines ran better than the others with more reliability. SO much power and not a single glitch in the hour long main, pretty nice.
Here is a quote from Jared Tebo, the ROAR National Champ, right after winning the main event in Colorado Springs. I heard this with my own ears: "This is the best engine I have ever run, period." That's saying a lot considering how much different stuff he has run. |
