I really wish you can just copy and paste pictures on this site!! I'll try and figure something out. Photo bucket isn't working for me for some reason.

The US spec is a picco based motor, while the ABI is a star based motor. The carbs are completely different on each engine. The carb on the ABI will look like this:

or

If the engine you're looking at has that tall insert it's a US spec no doubt.

This is the engine made in the Picco plant, and I'm 99% sure it's a 5+2 port configuration, as opposed to the traditional 3 port arrangement. The new ABI CRF is all new with complete different manufacture than the US Spec. Although Adrien Bertin did work on the US Spec line, so for sure it's Adrien Bertin Influenced (ABI).

That looks like a ABI with a US Spec carb on it.:weird:

deeje929 09-16-2010 06:05 AM

I know exactly what it is. I got that motor too.
It a US SPEC

yes, you've got the Orion CRF Us Spec, witch it pico based. You will notice it because you will have to use a specific header because of the angled exhaust on the engine.

No you don't need to use a special header. I have the crf 21 '08 that has the same angled exhaust and I use a dynimite 086. Just have to watch the joints when mounting the pipe. Did you get the motor on sale somewhere? I got mine for 145 shipped when Amain still wants 270 plus shipping. The motor is great. Very powerful. Run time could be better but club racing the mains are only 15 minutes so 1 pit stop in a truggy is good with me.

yamahamxracer 09-16-2010 06:25 PM

ok, So what pipe is best for it? the 2066 like all the other orion alphas? or.....? Looking for runtime mainly

2066 seems to work well with that engine, but I have to say the new 2058 is great. We've been running the 2058 and it makes huge power like the 2013 but it's a little quieter... not sure on the head pipe thing, but if it works with the standard head pipe, you should be ok.

rcmadnes 09-26-2010 03:57 PM

So what is the difference between the Truhe 2013 pipe and the Orion 2013? Do they run the same?
