We can get the engine to run 10 minutes, but in order to pit at 10 minutes, you really need to go 12. We have run near 11 minutes on a tank with the 3 port in testing. The 5 port I don't think will do it, maybe 9:45.

thank you! fast answer!!!

so for track with aprox 30-45sec laptime the 3port was a good choice to pit at 10min right ?

Pitpop: thanks for the info.

I am shopping for the 2013 pipe today as well as orion #5 /#6 glow plugs.
The carb is not giving me any problems and running 9:30 - 9:45 on a tank, so I am pretty pleased.
When tuning, I usually do the pinch test as a final check on the LSN, then richen 1/8th of a turn. The only thing I have found is the engine never loads up. CAn idle for 30+ secs and still explodes off the line. Should I richen the LSN a bit more?
Thanks

if your pinch test is giving you 3 to 4 sec before it stalls thats about where you want it any longer you should lean lsn a tad but if your motor starts to cut out your to lean

The engines run well with lean bottom end. Get it good and hot, then do your pinch test and leave it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "cooler." This is mostly done with tune, but using 7mm insert, Byrons Pro Blend 9/30, and smooth throttle finger. Nothing special done to the pressure line, we just run a normal pressure line set-up.

Hey guys, I am looking at getting either one of the 3 port alpha motors (turbo head/ ceramic bearing or the CRF). I would like to know which is getting better mileage, if there is a noticable difference. Also is everyone using the 2013 pipe on the CRF or something else.

The 3 port engine gets the best mileage. 2013 pipe is definitely the one to have.
