I've ran OS and RB in the past but never Orion and so have a bunch of OS\RB turbo\standard plugs. Hear what your saying pitpop re the Orion plugs but I'd like to know if there is anyway I might damage the engine (other than not tuning it right) by using OS or RB plugs? I have another engine (mega 21) that has a standard button and was told that if I used the OS standard plugs in this motor that I had to stick with these plugs as the thread was a little different to the RB standard plugs I have? I'm no expert so really don't know if this is correct or not.

Also, is it safe to use 30% with this engine? I downloaded the manual and it talks about running up to 25%. Had an RB 10 that I had to shim so I could run the 30% so thought maybe the Orion might be the same.

Thanks for your help.

If the heating element breaks off in the engine it can score the wall and/or piston. Another way is if you change from RB or OS plugs to the Orion. The taper may not be the same, hence causing a leak, and bad tunes, potentially lean conditions.

But if you run 1 type of plug, and stick with it, you shouldn't have any problems..

Or, you could sell those OS and RB plugs and buy some Orions..

2013 or 2035 will be the best of your pipe selection, for power and run time. 2013 being the better of the 2.

I've run about all of them, as long as they fit nicely and don't cost too much..

Glad your liking the engine so far.. Make sure to pre-heat the motor before starting, and keep your break-in temps around 250. It will help a bunch with engine life..

Good luck with break-in and enjoy that beast..

Not really. They need to be above 200 during break-in, but I noticed mine stayed near the 250 mark most of the time. When it dropped, it dropped to like 180 and Bogged like crazy.. Leaned it out to get temps around 230 and it now rips pretty good..

During break-in, you want the engine to be warm with a lot of fuel going through. Problem is, rich settings will cool an engine.

Use a heat gun as necessary, and insulate the engine head. Don't be afraid to use a heat gun occasionally after starting the engine. Breaking in an engine with low temps is a sure way to shorten engine life.

ELAD .Z. 06-20-2011 02:00 PM

Aight thanks;)
I know that breaking-in the engine in cool temps isnt smart thing, but was thinking more towards 200F and not 250:lol:
Is it becuase Orions like to run hot? I ask it because my Ninja runs very very strong at 220 and dont like this kind of heat lol.
