Got my Truhe edition today and have a question. Does it not come with a glow plug???

Reason I ask is mine was dropped shipped from Horizon and the plastic bag the motor was in was cut opened with a knife or scissors. So not sure if who ever opened the box took the glow plug out or that motor just dont come with one. Would be a little disappointed if it does not come with one.

thanks

My US Specs did not come with glow plugs... For the price you think they would. However I am not sure about the Truhe edition.

Nope, most Orions don't come with glow plugs (At least both of mines didn't). Pick up some O.S P3's for it.

Ok thanks guys, I feel better now about the package being opened. I have plenty of P3's :)

pitpop 02-15-2010 04:21 PM

FWIW I'm going to bug them about that and see if they will put plugs in the future... :)

Ok, so far I am not impressed with the Orion motor. I know these seem petty but in 4 years of racing I have never had this problem. Went to mount the motor in my buggy and noticed a piece of rubber sticking out of the idle set screw, after looking at it the Oring was sliced in half from the idle set screw being screwed into the case when they assembled it. So now I will have an air leak once I start breaking it in. Contacted Horizons and the guy was very nice and said no problem he will mail me a new one out.....Only 1 problem, they are backordered till late March:mad:

So my question is does anyone know what size Oring that is? Maybe it is the same as other Orion motors that someone may have in stock. If not that maybe I can pick one up at a local hardware store or even take from an older motor? I have plenty of old Vspecs!!

Im sure once I get thru this small stuff the motor ripping down the straightaway will make me forget all about it!! :)

Are you sure there not these?

If not, the whole needle and o-ring is cheaper than the bag.

The werks ring set should fit, but I'm not completely sure.

Maybe PK can answer this one better.

Just wanted to give an update on my Truhe edition Orion. I got a new Oring from Amain (thanks Pyromania) got it broke in just in time for this weekends state series race in Florida.

All I can say is WOW!!! This is the best engine I have ever owned. I couldnt have asked for anything better. The amount of power is insane and I have never had a smoother engine. I am very pleased :)

Another one will be ordered on Wednesday!!!!

Hi all! Which Orion engine has best fuel economy?? Thanks

SteveP 02-22-2010 01:10 PM

I would recommend a Team Orion Alpha ABI 3-port. It will have the best economy, and it's got plenty of power. Cavalieri used it to win the Dirt Nitro Challenge this past weekend. Depending on the conditions, you can upwards of 12 minutes a tank, but it has to be well broken in before it'll achieve the best fuel economy.

Team Orion "CRF Alpha" .21 ABI Competition Off Road 3 Port ???
And which pipe and plugs did you reccomend??

Orion or Sirio 2013 and O.S P3 plugs.

The motor will feel a bit weak until it is fully broken-in at about 1.5 gallons. Then it has all the power you will ever need.

Agreed. The 2103 pipe works very well on this engine. The P3 has proven to be slightly fragile, so the team has been using the Sirio/Orion #5 or #6 turbo plug instead. The #5 is close to the P3 but seems to last a little bit longer, and the #6 is a shade colder, but certainly longer lasting.

I really want to try out the orion plugs, but none of the shops around me carry them.
