I have one of the original Go 3Pt "race" spec engines from just over a year ago. I gave up on it due to being new and confused by the backwards way of tuning. Well, my main engine is leaking from the front bearing so I decided to dig up and restore, re-lube and completely seal the Go.
I just put a tank of fuel through it on the ground. It stayed running, pretty nicely actually, but just a few questions. The tuning philosophy for this engine is to set the high end and leave it, then work around the low speed needle until you get it right... right? I'm amazed that this engine kept so much compression after sitting, disassembled on a table in my basement. As such, I don't really expect too much out of it, but just a pleasant surprise. Going to try to keep this is a back-up if I can figure out the tuning on it. I do not want to get a carb from a different manufacturer, as I'm not particularly interested in incurring cost. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the old needle. Is it even worth trying to run it with the old needle?

I just ran another tank, it seems as though adjusting the top end makes it act funny and kind of sound like a lean bog. I just kept leaning out the bottom and it kept getting more and more punch. It seems the bottom controls the entire RPM range?

When the tank ran out it was at 1/2 turn in from flush on the HSN, 2 turns in on the LSN. Still a lot of blue smoke and running at about 200º. I tried both at flush and it acted so rich that it wouldn't even stay running.

It runs really well at those settings. Doesn't hesitate. I blasted it wide open throttle, stopped dead for 5 seconds, and pulled the trigger to full throttle, no hesitation.
I'll lean it out some more next time I get a chance to put some more fuel through it. I guess I'll keep leaning the LSN...? |
go tech
I have a go tech 5 port for sell. It will need a piston and sleeve. I've had it about a year. I have had trouble locally getting parts. I am getting an engine that is locally supported. ordering parts and waiting on shipments takes too long. If you want to buy call me 678-230-4679. I will take paypal and checks. I will take trades, for hitec servos. I live in Stockbridge, GA

I realize you asked for someone to call, but would you mind PM'ing me what you are asking for it?
