im pretty sure that RB carbs dont have a mid range adjustment?....and the speed carb has one ....
|
In my experience the OS carb really makes more consistant power throughout the entire RPM range. I got my bottom perfect, mid is insane and don't even ask about the top end cause I haven't even seen it all yet. From last weekend to today you'd think I had a different engine. And it's temping at 225-230

Hey go ahead if you want to I am all about what works best for you I just dont want to say that GO carbs hinder performance. And with my mills in the past that have used the 3 needle set up most of the time you dont even use the mid range needle, or if you do its like minute incriments.

Had no problem w the GO carb (except my heat gun melted the body around the idle screw, only reason I cahnged it). But I'm glad I did. It really makes it feel like a different engine. Definately has more power and is easier to tune. MSN adjustment was maybe 4 hours, but it made a big difference.

I swear read my post thats why I ended up doing the RB carb on mine. I did the same exact thing to mine. But also Russell has the short lsn for the GO carbs and I will be trying both with my new Powerhouse 3 port race. I will let you know how it goes with both really i just like the ease of tuning with the HSN instead with the body on the buggy lsn adjustments suck LOL and thats why i belive quite a few of the complaints about the carbs come from and also just because its just different. I like different but i admit I dislike the long LSN.

your right whatever works for U thats whats important :)....In My opinion the carb is what makes racers not want to try Go's ...even if they dont know how to tune people will allways try to pass the blame on to the motor and not their mech level....
i think if they did re-design a totally new carb...more racers would try Go's...even if a new carb is not needed it still would help the motors popularity... if it did raise the price of go's a little it would show MORE people go's are not just budget motors they truely are race motors and their here to compete not just bash... though i would love to see a 5pt in a revo bashing:lol: Team guys dont take this the wrong way ....theres nothing wrong with making improvements(most of you run modded mills anyways):sneaky:.... if your sick about me talking about this topic find out where i can buy the new white t-shirt's and ill shut up,,,, and answer my contigency ?'s:lol: im more then satisfied with stock go's and for the price:weird: all clubs racers should have one!!!! Rkhess to answer your question i believe Russell ordered a few white t/shirts but not 100 % sure because he was going to try and get them along with the black ones too. also im pretty sure the contengincy is still going and is being honored from what i remember he last told me. i personally have not had any problems with go carbs and have not changed one out for another brands. I have always ran modded mills before I even ran GO's I am just a beliver in modded mills. For $60-$80 what you get is just insane. But I have had my ass handed to me by stockers yes. And I am going to start keeping a stock 1 around for practice anyway. I dont go for all out crazy mods just tell the guy who is doing the work that I would like more runtime lower temps and for example on my 5 port I asked for it to be smoothed out on bottum and the 3 port I did ask for an all out beast LOL.

malik- i wouldnt be able to handle a modded 3pt w/053 i would have to run 086....i tried 053 on my stock go 5pt while tunning at my house on a rc8 buggy wow it left rubber in the street...and i still have that motor- trying to have a friend try it in his losi8t 2.0 and compare it to his modded v-spec
will g ---LOL...thanks for the t-shirt info, my next step was to ask pipe, plug ?'s over and over till someone gave me some kind of info on the tshirt .... i think you'all are misunderstanding my post's i use the speed carb as a MODD not a FIX ..had one left over from my over priced speed really sorry team guys if u felt like i was bashing go carbs..thats not at all what i wanted...i actaully wish i was on the team myself but i love trying new things (rc related only) ..lol |
Hess I still have to confirm that I will run the 053 on the Powerhouse 3 port. I planned on running the 086 as its the recommeded pipe but Mark at Powerhouse said and this is because i told him to go crazy with the mod work that the 086 wouldnt support the timing changes that he is doing to the mill. I hope the 086 does fine but I am looking for bottum to mid from the mill not top end as I usually dont run on huge tracks. Mine have lots of tight turns with short run ups to triples and what not, the PTM 5 port 086 has no issues with this with a 6.5mm insert and as I said I need a smaller insert and I get like 11.5 minutes out of it now. I am going to try them both though and I didnt think you were bashing the carb sh!1 if I had a new speed carb layin around I would try it out too. I just didnt want anyone to get the idea that they had to buy a $60-$100 carb for the mill to work. On the shirt I got the black 1 and have a lady make white ones for me.

Hey GO fans, I've got a gen 5 5 port up for trade for a good steering servo, has new P/S/R and a spare carb for parts. Both carbs are the long LSN ones
http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...-5-5-port.html ***edit*** It's gone, found a servo |
